FAMILIES AT FIRST PRES
First Pres has three rooms to help young families on
Sunday mornings: one nursing room for mothers & infants,
next to the Prayer Room, between the Sanctuary and Lee
Fellowship Hall, and a second nursing room for mothers &
infants, on the 1st oor of Clayton Life Center next to the
elevators.
In addition, we have a Family Room for infants, children and
dads :-) , also on the rst oor of Clayton Life Center.
All three rooms have a live television feed from the worship
services.

Happy Memorial Day weekend, Church! Im not here this
weekend, but fear not! Ive left you with not only capable
musicians, but familiar faces. A majority of our youth staf
(some for the rst time) will be leading you in worship this
morning, so sing out and make them feel welcome!
Luke Domeck (normally on Rhodes piano), Braiden Wood
(normally on electric guitar), and myself, are currently in
Manila, Philippines playing music with Braiden Wood!
We covet your prayers for safe travel, and for everyone
here to be blessed by Braidens music. Its been such a
privilege working musically with him (and the rest of the
Genesis crew) this past year, and Im excited for what
the Lord has in store for us. Church, weve been given
an extremely gifted group of musicians that pour their
hearts out every week when they lead you in worship,
and WE LOVE IT. Know that, and be encouraged by it.

In this Memorial Day weekend, our attention is drawn to
the subject of death, the death of those who have given
their lives for our country. The Bible also addresses this
business of death in a very direct manner. This Thursday
will mark exactly forty days since Easter Sunday. Much is
made of the birth of Jesus. We certainly remember Palm
Sunday, and the events of Holy Week culminating in the
glorious celebration of the resurrection on Easter Sunday.
But all too often, the events of the Ascension and to a
lesser degree, Pentecost, are largely forgotten. Both are
hugely signicant to our Christian faith and have much
to say about death. During that forty-day period, Jesus
appeared to many people at diferent times, once even
appearing to 500 people at one time. In a secular age of
doubt and speculation as it regards to life after death and
what it may or may not look likeif it even exists, Jesus
gave us a certain and perfect picture of the glorious
resurrection body. (It is interesting to me how intrigued the
secular world is in the recent movie Heaven is for Real.)
Eternal life is assured, real, and physical with dimensions
beyond the four in which we now live. Is the Ascension
signicant? Absolutely! Rejoice! Hes coming back in the
same way His followers saw Him leave. The anthem picks

as a follower of Jesus, courses include great content
for both new believers and those who have been
growing in their discipleship for many years. Choose
from two summer courses:
THE SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES 9:45am
Starting next Sunday were featuring a unique School of Disciple-
ship series on the Spiritual Disciplines, with a single topic covered
each Sunday morning by a diferent expert.
Each week will be a stand-alone seminar, so you dont need to fret
if you miss one. Stop in any Sunday and learn more about prayer,
Bible study, journaling, Sabbath, solitude and other important prac-
tices in Room 310 of the Edington Ministry Center.

SIMULTANEOUSLY RIGHTEOUS & SINNER 11:00am
Essential Question - How can we be assured of our salvation while
we live with such sinful hearts? Mike Shockey, Minister for Prison
and Jail Outreach will be helping answer this and other questions.
