· To develop, assimilate adopt and test, technologies including indigenous and smaller
technologies to ensure relevance to the rural requirements.
· To provide training in the use of improved artisan tools and to innovate, modify
smaller technologies to suit local requirements.
· To develop and maintain a research and documentation center with a view to act as a
resource center for studies on rural development.
· To develop an up-to date audiovisual center for producing the necessary software and
audio visual aids for its educational training and extension work.

will enable them to function better as productive citizens.

Back Ground
The philosophy of the Society rests upon holistic approach wherein the rural people are
provided with unhindered access to skills in latest sustainable technologies using improved
tools and equipment for enhanced productivity and quality dimensions. Special emphasis is
laid on capacity building and income generating of those who are underprivileged,
downtrodden, women, unemployed youth, and other vulnerable sections of the rural
community. The prime focus is on smaller technologies, which are sustainable and rural
friendly so as to enable the rural poor earn sustainable incomes and lead quality of life, and
thus bring in confidence among them to trigger off to a greater heights. Every initiative of
the Institute represents a smaller step towards realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of
making rural India the focal point of holistic development
It takes initiative for the Integrated Development that would arrive out of the felt needs of
the people. 92Gross Root Level Non Governmental Organisations are working under our
organisation.
DATAER implements Ten major programs, namely:
1.SustainableFarmingProgram(SFP)
SFP develops farmer-initiated, location specific and sustainable farming technologies in
partnership with community organizations to promote appropriate alternatives to
mainstream agricultural processes that have been responsible for losses in farm
productivity and income, biodiversity, indigenous knowledge systems, and community
control over genetic resources.

Free uniform dresses were given to 30 poor disabled school going students so that
they can mingle in the main stream with other students in the educational
institutions without shy and inferiority complex and proceed with their career
confidently.
Awareness about the disability, its causes, its consequences and its psychological
effects on both the disabled, family concerned and the society is essential. On this

Smt.Kona Sri Laxmi, M.S.W who trained in the fields of Rural women development,
agricultural sector and environment sector is the Secretary oversees the regular operations
of GATER. The organization also maintains a regular pool of experts in the fields of
agriculture, genetics, economics, HIV/AIDS awareness, women and children related
programs and the environment to provide technical backup to its programs and services

11. The members of the organization, its meeting, the reason of holding the
meeting and the decisions generally taken.
The member of the organization can be from all strata of the society. The members generally
meet annually in the annual general body meeting unless otherwise needed. To run the
organization, there is an executive committee consisting of Seven elected members from the
general body of the organization. There are as much as Six female members in the managing
committee. The managing committee meets once in every 1-2 months interval. The
committee discuss on all the matters .
