THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

It sure was great having 64 to Grayson here last Sunday. Look forward to other opportunities in the New Year to enjoy great music on Sunday morning. Our next scheduled group will be Elevate from Kentucky Christian University. They will be here on Saturday, February 22nd in concert and will stay over and lead us in our morning worship on the 23rd. We will have one service that day. More details to come later. It is hard to believe that Christmas is just three days away. I hope you have finished your final purchases and can just relax now and enjoy the day of celebration. As we prepare for this precious occasion, please plan to participate in this years Christmas Eve service. It begins Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. During the last week of December, I plan to spend some time with my family for some much needed R & R. In my absence, Steve Seevers will preach at both services on the 29 th and Joe Hoagland will preach during the PM worship that night. As we approach the New Year, I ask that you begin praying for our theme that I hope will change all of our lives for good. The theme for 2014 will be: Unleashed for the Unreached. We will preach about this, teach about this, talk about this, pray about this and hopefully rejoice in victory because of this. It is estimated that over 4 billion people are on the path to Hell. I pray we are not content to let that bounce off of us without any sort of resolve to do something about it? As I wrote this article today, I came across some startling statistics in a recent Harris poll. Here are his findings: 74% of Americans believe in God (down 8%) from recent years. 72% of Americans believe in miracles (down 7%) from recent years. 68% of Americans believe in Heaven (down 7%) from recent years. 58% of Americans believe in the devil & Hell (down 4%) from recent years. 54% of Americans believe in absolute certainty that there is a God (down 12%) from recent years. We truly are in a spiritual crisis in America. We Christians must unleash ourselves, empowered by Gods Word & Spirit, on those who need a Savior. Complacency, apathy, lethargy cannot continue. May we be determined, now more than ever, to live on purpose for Christ in daily surrender to His Will. Weve a story to tell to the nations. Jesus Christ, who came as a baby, died on a cross as a man and resides now at the right hand of the throne of God as the Savior of the World. God became flesh and dwelled among us. Wow! In His Service, Brad

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

PERSONAL NOTE: Sue, and I, are very happy to be back home for, at least, the next several weeks. Stephanie and Nathan are joining us on Wednesday (12/18). Stephanies condition continues improving but more time will be required. We appreciate, so much, your prayers and support and ask that you continue to remember all of us. At this point, I cannot predict when I will return to my full schedule of activities. However, I will be available over the next several weeks for local contact, etc. I do plan to return to my teaching of the Harmony Sunday School Class, at least temporarily. My return to Sunday evenings and midweek studies remains uncertain. FUTURE EVENT: It is a bit early but I want to remind you that Senior Saints in The Smokies, held on the Johnson University campus, will be marking its 30th year in 2014. A very special program is planned which will feature Dr. David Eubanks and the Ball Brothers Quartet. Mark the dates of May 26-30, 2014 and plan to attend. (We have registration forms on hand.) FINAL THOUGHT: Life can surprise us at every turn. However, remember that God knows no surprises and is with us no matter what comes.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year from the church staff

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." ~ Luke 2:8-11

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside down. We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are: Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through gracebased preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and SoonComing King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
