Unit 3 Project Proposal
Unit 3 Project Proposal
Unit 3 Project Proposal
is being made to propose my individual project for Unit 3 in English 320. You will find my personal proposal, objectives and structure of the proposal, methods used, the timeline I will follow to execute the project, works cited, and finally a grading rubric to ease in the grading process. Proposal: For my project I am going to propose to make a virtual brochure that will allow someone to read the information and then go out and ice fish, if they have never ice fished before. It will be approximately four to six pages in Word. Within the proposal you will also find: Safety precautions needed while on the ice Essential cold weather gear Fishing gear needed Some good lakes around the ND & MN areas The best augers and ice houses you can get Fun facts about fishing Ways to conserve and still have fun outdoors
I will also be adding links to YouTube videos throughout the readings that relate to each section to help the fishermen see real life scenarios they could be in for example, what to do if you are stuck out on the lake and your truck dies, or something as simple as what rod to buy and how to tie hook knots. These will be tied in to also give the reader a break from reading. Throughout the brochure I will put some of my own experiences into the writing, as well as other professionals in the ND & MN areas, and I will use APA format to cite them, and also APA in my works cited pages. Each bullet above will have its own writing section, and I will do my best to summarize and make things flow as good as possible. The writing will be approximately 60% of the project, and then fill in pictures to keep the readers intrigued, and keep them reading into the next sections. As far as the visual & technological parts of my project I will use links to YouTube, mostly at the end of each section so you can watch the videos after you have read about it, and hopefully that will answer any questions someone might have from reading. Most likely, I will try to keep the pictures to a minimum, because although they are fun to look at, people will end up looking at the pictures without reading the information provided. Finally, I will be submitting the proposal no later than the due date either via email to the instructor.
Objective: As an avid sportsmen and fishermen myself, my goals with this proposal is try and hook some people into the sport of fishing, and to try to guide them into it the most fun way possible. As a student and fishermen, it is always exciting to propose ideas that people are able to use, and that is my number one priority: To allow someone who has never ice fished, to read the pamphlet and be ready to go fishing! I want to explore this topic because of my passion for the sport, and it is fun to watch someone who has never caught a fish before, let alone on ice, pull their first fish through an 8 inch hole on a frozen lake. Throughout the project I will learn a lot from the sport of ice fishing because I still consider myself an amateur, and it is fun to watch the YouTube videos, not only to get excited for another season coming up, but to learn from those professionals shooting them. Through the writing I hope to learn how write tactfully and proficiently to others so they can understand, and learn how to write out teaching methods such as, how to ice fish. Methods: For this proposal to work out, and come together in a good clean fashion I have broken it down into steps, these steps will also be illustrated in the next, schedule, section. There are bas ic tools and some techniques you will have to pick up throughout the pamphlet to thoroughly enjoy the sport of ice fishing. 1 Research: watch videos, and read articles from professionals, check DNR for ice regulations and fishing rules 2 Determine which facts and rules are essential to understand and put them into the proposal 3 Watch YouTube videos and determine which ones are short enough to keep peoples attention, and keep them interested 4 Design the overall layout, find educational photos and videos, decide the order of the various sections, where to put the graphics and pictures, and where to put the hyperlinks to the YouTube videos. 5 Proofread 6 Submission of final proposal
Schedule: I will use this schedule throughout the project to reference to, and ensure I am keeping up with deadlines to ensure the proposal is getting out to the prospective sportsmen in a timely fashion.
