Procedure for Inspection of plates 1. Scope: This procedure covers visual inspection, dimensional inspection and test report verification of all plate material procured for specific project or stock. Besides ferrous and nonferrous metals & alloys, the material includes all types of clad plates. 2. Documents: The following documents shall be referred: Incoming Material Record (IMR) Purchase Order (PO) Additional Requirement of Material (ARM), if any Test Certificate (TC) Position No against BaaN itemNo for identification 3. Applicable specification/code: The Spec./Code/Std. stated below shall be referred and applied, if the applicable drawing/ code of construction/material spec. called for: ASME SEC IIA*/B* ASME SEC. VIII Dv 2* DIN* Drawing Customer specification *Refer latest edition if applicable addition not specified in drgs. 4. Measuring instruments: The following instruments shall be used. Measuring Tape, Vernier Caliper/Micrometer. 5. Inspection: 5.1 TC verification and conformation: Verify identification marking on plate material and test certificate. Review test certificates as per material Spec & ARM. Chemical & mechanical test results and heat treatment undergone shall conform to the requirements and limits of applicable spec./code/ARM/PO/Drg. Requirements of additional tests of coupon plate after simulation heat treatment is to be verified and confirmed. A review stamp shall be put on the backside of the original TC, if all required information is reported and the test results are within the permissible limit.
