Activity Design
Program Title:

"May Kasama Ka: A Peer Tutorial Program"


Rationale:

Learning can become more effective when students support each other. The "May
Kasama Ka" program promotes collaborative learning through peer tutoring, helping ADM
learners improve academically and build meaningful connections with peers. This initiative
encourages leadership, empathy, and responsibility among peer tutors while enhancing the
skills and knowledge of learners.

Objectives:

By the end of the program, participants should be able to:

1. Foster a supportive learning community through peer assistance.


2. Improve academic performance through personalized tutorials.
3. Develop tutors’ leadership, empathy, and communication skills.
4. Build learner confidence by providing a non-judgmental learning environment.

Target Participants:

 Peer Tutors: Senior students or academically excelling students (SSLG)


 Learners: ADM learners Program Mechanics:

1. Recruitment and Orientation:


o Peer tutors and learners will be recruited through class advisers and guidance
counselors.
o An orientation session will explain roles, schedules, and expectations.
2. Pairing System:
o Learners will be matched with tutors based on academic needs and schedules.
o Peer tutors will mentor one or more learners depending on availability.

o Sessions will be conducted twice a week (45 minutes to 1 hour).


o Subjects covered: Math, Science, English, and others as needed.
4. Monitoring and Feedback:
o Tutors will log each session’s progress and challenges.
o A coordinator will conduct bi-weekly check-ins with participants to monitor
their experience.
5. Evaluation and Recognition:
o Pre- and post-program assessments to gauge academic improvement.
o Certificates and recognition ceremonies for active participants at the end of the
program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 Program Coordinator:
o Oversees the implementation and monitoring of the program
o Facilitates matching of tutors and learners
o Conducts feedback sessions and program evaluations
 Peer Tutors:
o Provide academic support and mentorship to learners
o Maintain session logs and report progress
 Learners:
o Actively participate and communicate learning challenges
 Advisers/Guidance Counselors:
o Assist in identifying potential tutors and learners
o Monitor the well-being of participants

Materials and Resources Needed:

 Study materials (books, worksheets, online resources)


 Logbooks for session tracking
 Certificates for recognition

Expected Outcomes:

1. Improvement in learners’ academic performance.


2. Development of leadership and mentoring skills among peer tutors.
3. Creation of a culture of collaborative learning in the school.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

 Conduct pre- and post-assessments of learners’ performance.


 Collect feedback from tutors, learners, and advisers.
 Evaluate the program's success through academic outcomes and participant
experiences.

 Local organizations or alumni network for sponsorships
