The Bungoma Youth WASH Parliament is a vibrant movement promoting positive
water, sanitation, and hygiene changes. As an essential part of this organization,
we are committed to empowering youth and advocating for enhanced WASH
policies. It is one out of 15 Counties to have formed the WASH parliament.

The initiative began at the national level in 2022 and has since expanded to 15
counties, with 32 counties yet to be piloted. The idea for the formation of the
Bungoma chapter was preconceived in February 2024 and it materialized on April
2024. The group comprises 39 parliamentarians (14 men and 25 women) and 5
executives (3 men and 2 women) who are not the youth but form part of the group
for moral support.
