CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction (4 paragraphs, deductive approach)

First paragraph contains the general topic. You have to state facts or general

knowledge about the general problem or the dependent variable. See to it that you have

citation.

Second paragraph presents the trends. What is happening in the world, country, or

community? Is there an alarming issue that must be solved? Citation

Third paragraph contains the application of the problem in the present state of the

community or environment.

Last paragraph explains the reason for studying the chosen topic. Rationale. You

have to persuade or convince the reader that there is a need for research in the chosen

topic.

IDI then it will be analyzed using coding and thematic analysis. Lastly, at the end of the

study the researchers will identify themes on……..

CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Introductory paragraph. State the parts that will be presented in this chapter.

Methods and Techniques of the Study

The study will utilize a qualitative-phenomenological research. (citation )

(definition of quali). Citation definition of phenomenological. Why?

What method did you use to answer your research question?. What is your method

in data gathering? What is your research all about?

Context and Participants.

The study will choose 10 Grade 12 Stem students who experienced cyberbullying.

The participants will be chosen using purposive sampling. Purposive sampling definition

with citation. The participants can either be male or female.

The researchers (why)

What is the population of your respondents? Who are they? What sampling technique

will be utilized? How many respondents for the survey? (Use Slovin’s formula for

descriptive research while Cochran’s formula for inferential research)

Research Instrument

The study will utilize researcher-made structured interview questionnaire. The

instrument is divided into two parts namely; part 1 is the profile of the participants and

part 2 is the research questions. The research questions are 10 open-ended or close ended

questions.

The instrument will be checked and validated by the experts. Mr. Loticio, an

English teacher, __________________________, and ________________________, a

research teacher will be validating the questionnaire.

For appropriation of the questionnaire, it will undergo face and content

validity.define face validity with citation and define content validity with citation.
