3. Read the extract given below and answer the questions that follow.
Old Noah looked out into the driving rain,
Them Unicorns was hiding, playing silly games,
Kicking and splashing while the rain was pouring,
Oh, them silly Unicorns.
a) What did Noah do when it started raining?
Noah knew it was time to set sail when it started raining, so he looked for
the unicorns.
b) What were the Unicorns doing when Noah looked for them?
The Unicorns were frolicking in the water enjoying themselves and ignored
Noah's calls when he looked for them.
c) How did the Unicorns respond to the rain and the storm?
The Unicorns responded to the rain and storm by hiding and engaging in
playful activities, such as kicking and splashing, as described in the poem.
d) Why does the poet call the Unicorns silly?
The poet calls the Unicorns silly because they never made it on board, so
we don't see them around anymore.
e) Find a word from the extract which means the same as ‘foolish’.

4. Answer the following questions in 40–50 words.
a) Why did God ask Noah to do? Why?
God asked Noah to build a floating zoo and told him to take all the animals
with him. He said so because he was going to make it rain heavily on earth.
b) Why can’t we see a Unicorn till this day?
When God made it rain on earth, he had asked Noah to take all the animals
with him on the Ark. However the Unicorns were nowhere to be seen as
they were hiding and playing silly games. Hence, the Unicorns cannot be
seen till this day.
5. What would happen if…?
Listening and following to instructions is one of the key themes of the poem. Give
an instance of how not following someone’s instructions has got you in trouble and it
could have been avoided. Write an account of your experience in about 10 lines.
