On a summer day, you can wear it with shorts or a skirt, or pair it with jeans in mid-season.
This is a revised version of the original pattern, including more sizes and a neater way to
decrease. It is worked in-the-round, completely seamless and from the bottom up, until the
armholes. Front and back are then separated, and worked at until the shoulders.
The name Catal refers to the Neolithic settlement Catal Hüyük, in Turkey, where a 9,000-year-
old knitted fabric made of linen and hemp was found.
The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The one I'm wearing in the photo is size 3, with 2
cm/0.75” of positive ease. For reference, I am 170 cm/5' 7” tall and my bust circumference is
96 cm/38.5”.

Finished circumference around the bust: (79, 88, 98) [107, 117, 129] {139, 148, 158} cm/
(31.5, 35.25, 39.25) [42.75, 46.75, 51.5] {55.5, 59.25, 63.25}”.
To choose your size, add the desired ease to the actual measurement of your bust and then
nd the closest measurement in the schematic. For example: if your bust is 86 cm/34.5”,
you should knit size 2 which has a nal measurement of 88 cm/35.25” (with 2 cm/0.75” of
positive ease).
Gauge: 19 stitches x 30 rounds (10 cm/4”) with main needles after blocking in stockinette
stitch.
Suggested needle size: 4 mm/US 6 main circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. 3.5
mm/US 4 circular needles, or two sizes smaller than the main needle. Cable lengths may
vary as needed.
Sample features:

Estimated yardage:
(420, 480, 545) [600, 670, 740] {815, 890, 960} m/(460, 525, 595) [655, 735, 810] {890, 975,
1050} yd of Rosarios4 Principe Real or any DK weight yarn, or (4, 4, 5) [5, 6, 7] {7, 8, 8} skeins
of Rosarios4 Principe Real.
Notions: 1 stitch marker, blocking tools, scissors, tapestry needle, waste yarn (or stitch
holder). Optional: extra needle in the same size as main needle to work the Three Needle
Bind-Off, extra stitch markers to work the lace.
Final Measurements
This pattern is worked in-the-round until the armholes. The front and back are worked at
until the shoulders. I recommend making two swatches, one in-the-round and another
working at, to verify any difference in gauge when switching styles. You might need to
change needle sizes to achieve the same gauge.
RS: Right side of your work. Cast on (78, 81, 84) [90, 90, 96] {96, 102,

noted. If you are knitting size 4, you must cast on
90 stitches.
SL-WYIB: Slip stitch purlwise with yarn in
back of work.
