    Description Of Change: An improved coated front wheel bearing is now used on certain machines.

    Note: The new bearings are an optional service replacement part.

    Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers.

    Procedure
    Replace bearings with improved coated bearings.

    Monitor magnetic plugs at every 250 hours and monitor Schedule Oil Sampling (SOS) at every 500 hours. Use
    Caterpillar Final Drive and Axle Oil (FDAO) or equivalent. FDAO has an additive package with superior scuffing
    resistance to TO4 oil.

    First Choice - Caterpillar FDAO or FDAO-SYN of the recommended viscosity grade.

    Second Choice - commercial oil of the recommended viscosity grade that meets the Caterpillar FD-1
    specifications.
