Time

Objectives must be met over the period and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet
I. OBJECTIVES
the objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons,
exercises and remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and
competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing
objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find
significance and joy in learning the lessons.
Daily objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of algebraic expressions, the properties
A. Content Standards of real numbers as applied in linear equations, and inequalities in one variable.

The learner is able to model situations using oral, written, graphical, and algebraic methods in
B. Performance Standards solving problems involving algebraic expressions, linear equations, and inequalities in one
variable.
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives Write The learner adds and subtracts polynomials. M7AL-IId-2 The

3.not similar
4.similar
5.similar

D. Presenting examples/instances of the Match the Color!!!

new lesson
1. Activity

Instruction:
1. Divide the class into 3 groups.
2. Provide each group with colored cards and manila paper.
3. Each card contains numbers with colors. The learners will find the sum of the
numbers of the same color using the first letter of the color as a variable. Example

14g+17g+25g=56g (56 green)

4. Each group will be given 5 minutes to accomplish their task.
5. Each group will present their output.
6. Scores of each group will be recorded as their activity #10.

Rubrics for Scoring

7 points Accuracy
3 points Behavior
5 points Presentation
15 points Total

Analysis
2. Analysis 1. What did you feel about the activity?
2. What did you notice about the numerical coefficient?
3. What did you notice about the literal coefficient?

3. Abstraction Addition of Monomials

Steps in Addition of Monomials.

1. Add the numerical coefficients applying the rules on addition of integers.

Rules on Addition of Integers

Like Signed Integers
-Add the numbers and copy the common sign. Unlike
Signed Integers
-Subtract the numbers then copy the sign of the bigger number.

2. Copy the literal coefficient.

Examples:
-3x + 9x = 6x
-11xy + (-12xy) = -23xy 15m2n
+ (-25m2n) = -10m2n
4a2+6a2+3a2 =13a2
31z3+(-18z3) =13z3

4. Application Add the following monomials.

1. 15x + 26x
2. 27y + (-39y)
3. (-59a2c) + (-9a2c)
4. 15n4 + 10n4
5.21xy2 + 4xy2 +7xy2

Add the following monomials.

E. Evaluation 1. (-14rs3t3) + (-12rs3t3)
2. 107ma + 26ma+5ma
3. 48bz + (-19bz)
4. (-90vk2) + 25vk2
5. 34x3y + 41x3y+8x3y

F. Additional Activity
G. Closure Reflect on this:
“Every addition to true knowledge is an addition to human power.”
-Horace Mann

Index of Mastery
VI. REFLECTION

Non-Mastery Level Nearing Mastery level Mastery level

0 – 49% 50 – 74 % 75- 100%

Remarks:
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.
of learners who have caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which
my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials
did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
