DESIGN THINKING & TEAM MANAGEMENT
Design thinking is a solution- It is a structured plan for
based, methodology to get understanding innovation
things done in a better way and to grow more as an
entrepreneur.
EMPATHIZE
Empathize is the first step in
design thinking because it is a
skill that allows us to understand
and share the same feelings that
others feel.

Under Empathize, we learn to:

❖ Abandon Your Ego
❖ Adopt Humility
❖ Be a Good Listener
❖ Hone Your Observation skills
❖ Care for others
❖ Be Curious
❖ Be Sincere
DEFINE

This is perhaps the most challenging part of the design

thinking process, as the definition will require you to
Synthesize your observations about your users from the
first stage in the design thinking process and that is why
Empathy and Define are in the same category called
“Understanding” in Design Thinking
❖ Why will the solution benefit the
❖ Thepain or the dissatisfaction customer?
to be addressed
❖ How much time, effort, and/or money do
❖ Howit is to be addressed — i.e.
what is the overall solution customers have to put in the solution to
benefit from it?
❖ How do customers benefit from
the solution ❖ Doesthe solution involve other
stakeholders or third parties to fully
benefit the customer?

HOW MIGHT WE?

IDEATION
Ideation is often the most exciting stage in a Design Thinking project,
because during Ideation, the aim is to generate a large quantity of ideas that
the team can then filter and cut down into the best, most practical or most
innovative ones in order to inspire new and better design solutions and
products.
PROTOTYPE

❖ Prototypes are often used in the final testing

phase in a Design Thinking process so as to
determine how users behave with the
prototype,
❖ to reveal new solutions to problems,
❖ or to find out whether or not the implemented
solutions have been successful.
PROTOTYPES
ARE OFTEN USED IN THE FINAL, TESTING PHASE IN A DESIGN THINKING PROCESS IN
ORDER TO DETERMINE HOW USERS BEHAVE WITH THE PROTOTYPE, TO REVEAL NEW
SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS, OR TO FIND OUT WHETHER OR NOT THE IMPLEMENTED
SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL.
TEST
In Design Thinking, Test involves
generating user feedback as related to
the prototypes you have developed, as
well as gaining a deeper understanding
of your users.
TEST METHODS

The Goal is to:

 Test early and often with
diverse range of persons
 Conduct an accessibility
evaluation to ensure
universal access.
 Talk with user groups
IMPLEMENTATION

❖ In Design Thinking, implementation is the

process of putting a decision or plan into effect.
❖ Executing “a design" is about the output of the
process of "Designing a thing". “
❖ Implementing a design" means actually doing
the work to convert the idea (the design) into
something real.
