father and predecessor, the Order of Blazing Steel
was a key source of strength for the empire in its
wars for expansion. Its members lived for the
empire's glory, whether through the flames of
conquest or the iron fist of rule.
Aric joined the holy order at young age, training so
that he may one day fight for the empire's glory on
the frontlines.

However, 26 years ago, when Aric had yet to
come of age and join his brethren in battle, King
Itall died, leaving his son to take the throne at the
age of 17. Much to the order's chagrin, the wars
for expansion came to an end, and the empire
stopped welcoming new lands and peoples into its
embrace. In the many years since, members of
the order had to content themselves with guarding
the border from invasion and keeping the peace.

Two years ago, shouts of joy rang through the
halls of the order's temples as news arrived that
King Elial would finally take up his father's legacy
and continue the long paused battles of the
northern and Eastern borders. By this time, Aric
was a captain at the head of a small, but tight-knit
band of warriors, ready to take up their swords in
conquest once more. 1 and a half years passed in
glorious battle before disaster struck and Aric was
left the sole survivor of a horrific encounter.
