    The Principal,

    Sir John Tarbet Junior and Senior Athletic Championship – 2024

    The Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association affiliated to the Ministry of


    Education is organizing Sir John Tarbet Junior and Senior Athletic Championship
    by the courtesy of “ Ritzbury” and is scheduled as follows. Learn it carefully and
    send the applications by Registered Post on or before the relevant day. (After
    receiving your application, it will be confirmed with the What’s app number you
    have given to us.) The permission has been granted by the Ministry of Education
    with the letter bearing the number ED/9/15/04/05 dated on the 19th of April 2024.

    The closing date for the Senior Competitions is the 10th of August 2024.

     It is compulsory to apply each age groups separately and they should be


    certified by the principal. Please pay your concentration on this matter
    because we have decided to reject the incomplete applications. The details
    you send will be included to the competition manual and at the end the
    certificates will be issued accordingly. Please do concern with the initials and
    the names as well as the events and write them in BLOCK CAPITALS and
    mark them in relevant boxes.

     Send the application by Registerd Post to Mr. E.G.Thiron Indika Gamage,


    (Secretary), Sri Lanka Schools Athletic Association. R/ Kularathna
    Central College, Godakawela.

     Only 4 athletes can participate in each event of each age group. An individual
    can participate 03 events except relays.
     The Entrance Fee is Rs. 350 /- for an individual events and it is Rs.600 /- for each relay event.
     The Annual Registration Fee is Rs. 1500/- for the government and privet schools of less than 500
    students.
     The Annual Registration Fee is Rs. 2000/- for the government and privet schools of more than 500
    students.
     Rs. 500/- for individuals events and Rs.800/- for the relays will be charged for the applications
    delayed. ( after the closing date)
     The International Schools have to pay Rs 20,000 /- as the Annual Registration Fee.

    The amount can be paid by cheques according to the above details. The cheques should be written to
    “ Sri Lanka Schools athletic Association”. If not, bank the money to the Account number 086100143168826
    at the Thimbirigasyaya Branch of the Peoples Bank.(Please do not issue cheques or bank money to the
    name of persons).

     The First Stage of the Junior Competition will be held at 04 Divisions.


     The First twelve selected athletes and in addition the sixteen athletes with the best
    performance will qualify for the finals.

    We have already applied for the “Ritzbury” Relay Carnival and after receiving the approval
    we will inform you the venue and the date.

     The Competition is scheduled as follows and the athletes should apply according to
    the relevant age groups.

    Race walking
     A decision has been taken to cancel the event from this year onwards, if there is less than 08
    competitors, because less than 08 competitors, because less competitors participated is the
    last year.

    Track Race
     It is emphasized that after the heats there would be 02 or 03 semi finals concerning with the
    timing and number of competitors.

    Under 16 –

     The athletes should produce their Postal Identity Card or the Passport and in
    addition, a copy of the original Certificate of Birth and a Photograph certified
    by the principal.
    Under 18 / 20 –

     All the athletes should produce the original copy of the Certificate of Birth with
    the National Identity Card or the Passport and a Photograph certified by the
    principal.
