    The study's initial phase involved researching how other
    cities have utilized alleys and conducting focus group
    meetings with property owners, commercial brokers, and
    citizens. This research revealed potential for retrofitting
    and redesigning downtown alleys. The firm plans to
    engage property owners along these alleys to explore
    opportunities for commercial uses. Using zoning as a
    concept for alley revitalization could involve
    implementing mixed-use zoning, encouraging adaptive
    reuse, prioritizing pedestrian accessibility, incorporating
    green spaces, considering historic preservation, and
    engaging the community in the zoning process. This
    approach aims to create vibrant, pedestrian-friendly
    spaces that enhance the urban environment in Barangay
    Balud, Calbayog City.
