Multiplication

Multiplying is a quick way to add things up. For example:

2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 10 or 2 × 5 = 10. The activities in this book
will introduce your child to some basic multiplication facts.

What to do
Have your child solve the vertical and horizontal multiplication
problems on the activity pages. Some of the problems will
require that your child carry over a number from one column
to the column on the left.
On the activity pages your child is asked to color each page
according to the answers to the problems. Doing so will
uncover a beautiful design.

Keep On Going!
Encourage your child to climb the multiplication mountain.
Have him or her practice the multiplication table from 1 to 10.
Then you and your child can make up problems for each other
to solve.

repeated addition Date:

The addition sentence 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 20 can be written as a multiplication sentence.

Count how many times 4 is being added together. The answer is 5. So, 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 20
can be written as 5 × 4 = 20. Multiplication is a quick way to add.

Write a multiplication sentence for each

addition sentence.
