Configuring Anti-passback

Introduction
This procedure describes how to enable anti-passback, set the 'auto-forgive' timeout and select an 'auto-forgive-all' time for an Access Zone.
You must have the "Edit Site" operator privilege, and be in the same Division as the Access Zone (or a parent Division).

Procedure
1. Click Configure from the menu bar, then Access Zones.
The Access Zone List Window opens (in tree view).
2. Highlight the Access Zone you want to configure anti-passback for.
3. Right click and select Properties.
4. Click the Advanced tab.

5. Configure the Anti-passback properties as required.

Checkbox Description

Anti-passback enabled When checked, the Controller will maintain a list of the Cardholders that are currently within the Access Zone. If the Access
Zone is part of an Access Zone Group, then only one "in zone" list is maintained for the Master Zone of the Access Zone Group.
The Use single Controller checkbox becomes enabled and a new Anti-passback tab appears.

Check for tailgating on exit from zone When checked, the Controller will maintain an "out of zone" list of Cardholders for the Access Zone. If the Access Zone is part
of an Access Zone Group, then only one "out of zone" list is maintained for the Master Zone of the Access Zone Group.
The Strict Anti-tailgating enforcement and Use single Controller checkboxes become enabled and a new Anti-passback tab
appears. See Configuring Strict Anti-tailgating for further detail.
Note: While this is configured here on the Access Zone, the anti-tailgating response is configured on the Access Group.

Use single Controller When checked, the Controller selection box becomes enabled so you can select a single Controller to store the "in zone" and
"out of zone" lists on.
Note:
This helps with performance for sites that require anti-passback on Access Zones with high throughput at specific times.

Note:
If you want to configure zone counting for this Access Zone also, refer to Enabling Zone Counting for the procedure.
6. Click the Anti-passback tab.

Note:
If this Access Zone is a Master Zone for an Access Zone Group, then the properties configured here will apply to all Access Zones in the group.

7. If required, check the Auto-forgive after checkbox and enter the appropriate time (in minutes) in the Time box . This will allow an authorised cardholder to re-
enter the anti-passback zone after the time set, even though they have not made a valid exit from that zone. The Auto-Forgive time starts from the time of valid entry, (i.e. if it is
set to 3 minutes and a cardholder presents their credential after 3 minutes from the original valid entry, they will be allowed back in the zone).

8. If required, check the Auto-forgive-all at checkbox and enter the appropriate time in the Time box using the 24 hour clock.
This will allow all authorised cardholders to re-enter the anti-passback zone after the time of day indicated, regardless of any previous anti-passback restrictions.
Note:
Anti-passback continues operating as normal after the time indicated.
9. The Auto-Forgive on Exit from Site section is used to list all the Door(s) that a cardholder can exit the site through, and they will be forgiven anti-passback violations and registered
as "out of zone".
Open the Door List Window and highlight the door(s) you want to be used by this Access Zone and drag and drop them into the Auto-forgive on Exit from Site grid.

10. Click OK to exit and save your changes.

Click Cancel to exit without saving your changes.
Click Apply to save your changes and stay in this window.

Result
Anti-Passback has been configured for the Access Zone.
