compatibilizer in acrylic lacquers and emulsion paints, as well in solvent-borne
alkyd lacquers to improve tinting strength, reduce rub-out and water absorbtion.

Processing instruction: Mix Dispersogen AN 200 with water and all other liquid
components before adding the pigments to the millbase. The use of 2 -4% lecithin
for specific pigments like PR 101 reduces the viscosity of the pigment paste and
enables to increase the pigment load at the same time. Additionally, lecithin
improves the compatibility of waterborne colorants with solvent based coatings.
The addition of Dispersogen LFS up to 6% is an option to reduce the viscosity
and to improve the mechanical stability of the organic pigment preparation during
mixing and storage in the tinting machines. Dispersogen AN 200 is an open time
extender for decorative paint systems.
USE RECOMMENDATION WITH FILLER PIGMENTS AND POS PIGMENT
PASTES
Organic pigments are either dispersed alone or in combination with filler
pigments, like calcium carbonate, China Clay or barium sulfate. The filler pigment
increases the body, the viscosity and can overcome sedimentation.
In some cases, rheology modifiers are also added to increase viscosity and to
reduce sedimentation of pigments. Sedimentation can occur when the pigment
concentration and the viscosity of the paste is low. Low pigment concentrations
are chosen for light shades.
