Hi, all I did a lab today to prove that 'gateway' in 'Routing Information

Source' from 'show ip protocol' refer to the interface that is identified by the
network statement. However, the following configuration shows something
different, I just want to confirm if this is right.

The configuration I have tells me that 'gateway' are the interfaces that
received the routing update. This interface can't be a loopback nor a router
more than 1 hop away. R3#show ip proRouting Protocol is "rip" Sending
updates every 30 seconds, next due in 11 seconds Invalid after 180
seconds, hold down 180, flushed after 240 Outgoing update filter list for
all interfaces is not set Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not

have another lab question here, hope it's not too much of a trouble: What
exactly is the purpose of 'no auto-summary' in EIGRP? I don't see any
difference between the routing table. But I do see a difference when I'm
using 'ip summary-address eigrp 172 10.10.0.0 255.255.252.0' R2#show
