NOTES
This sweater is worked from the top down beginning with a scallop edging worked back and forth.
The knitting continues in the round with stacked increases and raglan shaping to create the yoke. A
small section of short-rows is worked at the back and sides of the neck to help with fit. The yoke is
decorated with a choice of eyelet pattern or none. The 3/4-length sleeves start at the lower
edge with the same scallop edging. They also have a small section of short-rows on their lower half
to create a sculpted silhouette. Finally, the sleeves are grafted on to the body. Sleeve instructions are
written to use DPNs, however an alternative method of working small circumferences can be used,
such as Magic- Loop.
STITCH GUIDE
Make double stitch (German Short-rows)
Slip the first stitch on the left needle purl-wise and pull the working yarn over top of the right nee-
dle tightly to create a double stitch. This is really the two legs of the stitch in the row below. Reposi-
tion the yarn as needed for the next stitch: to the front for a purl stitch, to the back for a knit stitch.
Work the next few sts tighter than usual. Later, when working the double stitch, work it as a single
stitch (like a k2tog). This is the key feature of the German Short Row.
