GENERATION 1
According to our research, grandparents with different cultural
backgrounds take different approaches to maintaining their physical health.
In the context of our culture, grandparents play outdoor sports like khokho
and handball. On the other hand, grandparents belonging to the other
cultural group stand adding physical activity into their everyday schedules
by walking or cycling to different locations. When it comes to eating habits,
both groups value home-cooked, healthy meals; however, dietary
restrictions are more common among the grandparents of our culture, who
avoid eating meats such as beef and pork. It's interesting to note that both
sets of grandparents felt that talking about mental health wasn't required
because it wasn't relevant to their interests or time.
GENERATION 2
Both parents followed the tradition of eating wholesome, home-cooked meals that had been
passed down from the prior generation. They continued to eat three meals a day, which included
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Furthermore, the nearest market or grocery shop provided the
cooking products for both groups. Parents from our cultural background continued to follow the
same dietary rules as the generation before them, which included avoiding pork and beef.

The two sets of parents agreed that schools have an impact on physical health. Both
generations relied on local markets for food supply, even if their cultural backgrounds required
different culinary tastes. It's interesting that neither group talked about mental health issues,
despite everyone agreeing that doing so at the time would have been very helpful.
GENERATION 3
Our generation's Dutch and Indian cultures have the common practice of
indulging in junk food, which includes pizza, spaghetti, and hamburgers.
There is a noticeable difference, though, when it comes to physical
exercise, with people in the Netherlands generally being more active. Some
of the things they do on a regular basis are going to the gym, riding their
bikes for personal transportation, and walking. Both cultural groups' levels
of physical exercise differ, but there is one thing in common: schools have a
big part to play in helping them stay physically healthy.

Moreover, youngsters in both cultures follow the same habit of eating

three meals a day. But in the context of our culture, dietary restrictions
from the earlier generation. It is significant that both groups of children
have a general understanding of mental health, having learned about it
from places like social media and schools. Talks about mental health are
valued and held when both cultural groups think it's necessary.

REFLECTIONS

ANOUSHKA’S REFLECTION
1. What was your task and how did you contribute to the group work ?
The "Healthy Life" group had a lot of responsibilities that I took on as its leader, from managing the group's
activities to delegating tasks to each member. Being the group leader meant that I had to take full responsibility for
the group as well as for myself. I put an immense amount of effort to help the group succeed. I set up meetings on
time so that we could finish our work. I also had a major effect on the generational interviews that were recorded
and on the effective contact between all group members.
2.What was your most memorable learning experience? Which competencies did you develop
further?
Gaining useful management and communication skills has been one of the program's greatest experiences overall.
In my experience, communication can be difficult, especially when meeting new people. On the other hand, this
programme worked as a push to help me improve my communication abilities. I also improved my capacity to
decide quickly and guarantee that tasks are completed effectively and on schedule. The programme gave me a
deeper knowledge of these critical skills in addition to improving my understanding of management and
communication.
ANOUSHKA’S REFLECTION
3. What went well? What would you have done differently?
Even though there were a few obstacles to overcome, the entire process was easy and
enjoyable overall. In my opinion, there was room for improvement in the video
conferences we had with our multicultural group; for example, we had trouble
understanding some of their communications because of network problems. It was also a
little difficult to interview several generations inside the same family, but we were able to
accomplish it. Finally, I discovered that everyone completed their tasks with excellence
during the highly effective collaboration with the partner school.

KABIR’S REFLECTION
1. What was your task and how did you contribute to the group work ?
In my task as Healthy Life's website incharge, I had to take on the responsibility of organizing and compiling
all of the interviews that the members of my group carried out for us. I took on the responsibility of editing
the videos into a single one in alongside monitoring the audio clarity and quality of the interviews.
2. What was your most memorable learning experience? Which competencies did you develop
further?
My most memorable learning experience was teamwork and time management. I gained experience
working in a team where you must manage the other members of your group as well. I also gained
knowledge on setting priorities for my work and completing tasks ahead of schedule.
3. What went well? What would you have done differently?
There weren't a lot of challenges to face. The fact that my group members were eager to work hard and
submit the interviews on schedule made things go well for me. Being in charge of the website, this made
my job easier. I thought we could have done a better job to obtaining more data from our partner school's
students.
SHANAYA’S RELFECTION
1.What was your task and how did you contribute to the group work?
I belonged to the group known as Healthy life. We distributed the tasks in our group equally, yet we were
heavily dependent on our leader. I wrote the comparison's fourth question and its conclusion as a way to
contribute to the group. When drawing a comparison between our generation and the Netherlands
generation, I also contributed by offering points.
2. What was your most memorable learning experience? Which competencies did you develop
further?
Speaking with the other students and learning about their lifestyles was, in my opinion, the most memorable
educational experience I had. My communication skills were one of the key things I worked on improving
while I was in the Netherlands. I was hesitant to talk to them at first, but I gradually improved my ability to
converse and feel at ease with them.
3. What went well? What would you have done differently?
I thought it was great to meet the students and spend time with them; we had a great time and bonded with
them while learning a lot about their culture. The one thing, though, that I would have done differently is to
have spent more time getting to know the students and asking them more questions concerning their way of
life. Nonetheless, I believe that everything went really well and that our group's collaboration flowed easily.
ATHENA’S REFLECTION
1. What was your task and how did you contribute to the group work?
My task included of conducting interview of: Mrs Rajender, Mrs Bable and Miss Karishma. Asking them a few
general questions about their childhood and then a few specific questions on healthy life topic. I additionally
helped with the designing of the website and asking questions to the intercultural peer group.
2. What was your most memorable learning experience? Which competencies did you develop
further?
Engaging in interviews and gathering firsthand information from acquaintances enabled me to delve into the
lives of both past and present generations. Conducting an interview with my grandmother provided an
invaluable opportunity to explore topics we might never have broached otherwise. It offered insights into
her childhood experiences, while helped me understand the difference in lifestyle then and now. This
process honed my abilities in primary research, emphasizing teamwork and communication as pivotal skills
for conducting effective firsthand investigations
ATHENA’S REFLECTION
3. What went well? What would you have done differently?
In my view, the entire process proceeded smoothly, encompassing interviews, research, and
comparisons. Yet, augmenting our online engagement with our intercultural peer group could
have deepened our comprehension of their perspectives and experiences, enriching our overall
understanding. Plus, I could have been more involved through the whole process with my group
and more in-depth research.
