What is Barangay Development Planning?

✔ A people-based approach to bring about meaningful growth


in the improvement of people’s quality of life

✔ Lay-outs the “WHYS and the HOWs” of major challenges for


community development through vision-goal-objective-
strategy and programs, projects and legislations.

✔ Pagpaplano na nakabatay sa mithiin/naisin ng mga


tao sa pagpapaunlad ng kalidad ng buhay at ng
komunidad

✔ Nilalatag ang mga kalagayan at mga pamamaraan


para maisaayos, mapaunlad ang barangay,
mapakinabangan ang mga oportunidad, harapin
ang mga usapin at mga hamon sa pagpapaunlad
at pagpapatibay ng barangay sa pamamagitan ng
pagbubuo ng mga pangarap (vision), mga mithiin
(goal), mga layunin (objective), istratehiya (strategy)

What is Barangay Development Planning?

Barangay Development Plan

The BDP is a three-year comprehensive multi-sectoral development plan


that is formulated through an inclusive and participatory approach led by
the Barangay Development Council and approved by the Sangguniang
Barangay.

Barangay Development Plan

It is an official document of the barangay that specify policy options,


programs, projects and activities intended to contribute towards the
achievement of the barangay’s developmental goals and objectives.

At the minimum, the BDP must include the following information:

▪ Situational Analysis
▪ Organizational Philosophy (i.e., Vision, Mission and Goals)
▪ Policy Options, Programs, Projects and Activities
▪ Implementation Timelines
▪ Resource Requirements
▪ Monitoring & Evaluation System

As the primary planning and implementing unit
of government, it is in the barangay where
the collective views of the people are
expressed, crystallized and considered.
