TAKE ACTION 8.4

1. What are the emerging challenges in the flexible teaching and learning modality during the
time of pandemic?

The pandemic produced by COVID-19 has changed the educational environment

throughout the world. Students cannot acquire the same consistency in studying directions with
the health hazards given by COVID-19, especially when these students are unfamiliar with off-
campus learning methods. Students are struggling to completely comply with the learning goals
in this type of environment since most instructional materials are ambiguous and poorly provided
by teachers. Students were not appropriately orientated or instructed on the usage of these new
learning platforms due to their lack of knowledge of online and virtual learning systems. The
students were challenged at the start of flexible learning by the technical knowledge that they
should have obtained before engaging with the system. This would be regarded as an issue
resulting from the institution's failure to appropriately orient pupils regarding internet platforms
and service providers. One of the reasons students were late in submitting their evaluation tasks
was a lack of internet access. Lack of Finance and Mobilizing Resources that diverse learning
platforms, the student's inability to access these resources is a significant barrier to the
achievement of their learning goals. The student's inability to access these materials on the
flexible learning platform poses a significant impediment to their fulfillment of the desired results.

2. What would institutions do to ensure curriculum continuity in teacher education?

I suppose through assuring the efficient implementation of Curriculum for each student
to obtain excellent, accessible, relevant, and empowering basic education. The implementation
of a good and better curriculum provides students with the opportunity and sufficient time to
acquire and master lifelong learning for the 21st century, as well as to experience learning outside
of the classroom for more holistic development, in order to prepare graduates for higher
education, middle-level skill development, and the workforce. It is determined that higher
education institutions must migrate to flexible teaching and learning modes, recalibrate the
curriculum, capacitate the faculty, improve the infrastructure, adopt a strategic plan, and analyze
all components of the strategy in order to assure teaching and learning continuity.

ACTIVITY 1: What Reading Materials Say About Covid 19 Pandemic

1. Read from the web and make a summary about Covid 19 Pandemic.
Read at most five references for this activity and attach them to your class.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in enormous transformations, ranging from individual changes
to worldwide upheavals. Although it is uncertain which of these alterations will have long-term
repercussions and which will fade. First, the greatest challenge the students faced during the school
closure was a lack of adequate reading materials, particularly when the usual sources such as the
library, teachers, and friends were unavailable. This implies that it is critical to improving students'
easy access to the highest reading materials in paper and electronic formats, as well as at home or at
school during non-school closure times. Second, it is crucial to acknowledge that most pupils are likely
to be print natives rather than digital natives when it comes to understanding. Even as technology
advances to make digital reading easier, parents, educators, and schools should be aware of the
advantages and disadvantages of using print vs digital materials. Students have to be thoroughly and
persistently socialized into digital reading both at home and at school, just as it takes time and effort
to socialize them with print books and cultivate their reading habits. Furthermore, schools must play
a more active role in socializing students' use of digital gadgets and reading materials. Finally, as life
transitions to a new normal that includes more time spent on home-based or blended learning,
lecturers and instructors may consider how to better design and create curricular and instructional
opportunities for integrating learning into remote and online learning

ACTIVITY 2: Planning for the Future as a Teacher During the Pandemic

1. When you become a teacher in the future which teaching delivery will you use
during a pandemic? Why?

The pandemic and longer school closures have altered teachers' roles, and most of them were
unprepared for such a shift. This is a huge realization, that we need to prepare to continue the
teaching and learning process in any circumstance. So, as a teacher in the future, the teaching delivery
that I want is the Modular Distance Learning that involves individualized instruction that allows
learners to use self-learning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is
applicable in the context of the learner, and other learning resources such as Learner's Materials,
textbooks, activity sheets, reference materials, and other learning resources. And the Online Distance
Learning I will facilitate learning and engage learners' active involvement by utilizing various
technologies available over the internet when they are distant from one other during teaching. I came
up with these teaching delivery strategies because MDL is available to students who are unable to
access what is required in ODL, which is I can understand my students who don't have the money to
buy gadgets or loads, and I won't let them neglect the study I will be a multi-tasking teacher to
monitor and give them a good future and teach them to have quality and balance time.
