    SCIENTIFIC ASPECTS

     Earth being filled with trash in the distant future


    With the undisciplined behaviour of human beings and excessive amount of garbage we
    produce, it is possible that our planet will be filled with waste. The Earth will become
    inhabitable once the level of waste continues to arise.

     Humans moving out of Earth to live in space


    Life is not sustainable in space, making it inhabitable. Although the Earth is suffering, it
    is not possible for people to live in a spaceship like Axiom. Scientists have been
    exploring other planets that would suffice our needs as humans but they have not found
    one as of now.

     Robots as workers
    It is possible that in the far future, robots still exist and takeover the workspace. As of
    yet, personal cleaning robots and stock checking robots have been developed but as
    time will pass, more beneficial technologies would be invented.

     Robots having emotions and showing empathy


    Having emotional intelligence is still our edge compare to robots. They might do the job
    more efficiently but it is not possible for them to show empathy towards others.
    According to some robotics researchers, it is the holy grail of robotics industry if they
    can develop a robot with emotions.

     Virtual Communication
    Either for information, communication or entertainment, people cannot get enough of
    their gadgets. They are always glued with their smartphones, laptops and televisions.
    Observing from the time people spend with their screens, it is possible that years from
    now, two people sitting right next to each other would communicate through video
    chat.

     Robots are conscious


    The movie have shown that a robot has the ability to decide for itself and control things.
    Robot pilot of the spaceship, AUTO, began thinking on its own which is not possible in
    reality. Although artificial intelligence continues its advancement, it will not be
    developed and improved without the supervision of a human being.
    ETHICAL ASPECTS

     Improper Disposal of Waste


    WALL-E shows the possibility of trash filling the Earth. As human beings, we should learn
    to be responsible for the waste we produced or the planet we live in will suffer in the
    long run.

     Greed of BnL
    Buy n Large Company is a monopoly which controls everything inside Axiom spaceship.
    A business should listen to the needs of its consumers and not the other way around.
    BnL controls everything inside Axiom which leads to mindless consumption of the
    humans living in it. These phenomena shows the loss of humanity through
    consumerism.

    OVERALL OPINION
    At first, I thought WALL-E is just about the romance between two robots and nothing more. As
    the movie continues, it shows a lot of possible circumstances that may happen to the planet
    and how human beings would be able to cope and survive with those phenomenon. From
    improper disposal of wastes, change of roles of humans and robots, advancement of
    technologies, and consumerism, WALL-E have shown some issues that most of the time, are
    being overlooked.
