Greeting

I want to thank you for being here, to learn more about what abuse of women is. Before

starting I want you to pay attention to the following reflection that says "Defend your life, fight

for your independence, seek your happiness and learn to love yourself" by Isazkun Gonzalez.
Objectives:

 The audience say what is the mistreatment of women.

 Can identify risk factors.

 Can go to the right organization.

According to the OMS (2019) indicates that violence against women is any act of gender

violence that results in physical, sexual or psychological harm to women, they can also be

threats. When investigating I was able to find an analysis that was carried out in 2013 by the

OMS, this indicated that they used more than 80 data from countries. In this they found that one

in three women suffer from gender violence. Almost 30% of all women who have had a

relationship have suffered what is gender abuse. The 7% of the women stated that they had been

victims of physical violence.

Rick Factor’s

The risk factors are some characteristics that the aggressor or the victim may present. The risk

factors are some characteristics that the aggressor or the victim may present are: injuries to the

body, shoves, slaps, verbal attacks, among other characteristics. A psychological violence is

characterized by insults, teasing, yelling and threats. There are other types of violence that are

the following: sexual, economic, symbolic, social and obstetric.

Protection for battered women

There is a law for victims of gender violence. This law is known as Law 54 (law against

domestic violence). The Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico recognizes that

domestic violence is one of the most serious and complex problems facing our society. Domestic

violence lacerates the integrity and dignity of every victim, regardless of sex, marital status,

sexual orientation, gender identity or immigration status of any of the people involved in the

relationship. Any person who uses physical force or psychological violence, intimidation or

persecution on the person of their spouse, ex-spouse, or the person with whom they cohabit or

have cohabited, or the person with whom they maintain or have sustained a consensual

relationship, or the person with whoever has procreated a son or daughter, regardless of the sex,

marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or immigration status of any of the people

involved in the relationship, to cause physical harm to their person, to the assets appreciated by

them, except Those that belong exclusively to the offender, or to the person of another or to

cause serious emotional damage, will incur a fourth degree felony in their upper half.

Aids for battered women

In order to help an abused woman or to receive help, you can contact the women's

attorney's office. Its mission is as follows: "The mission of the OPM is to ensure the full

development of women, promote equality and equity, eradicate all manifestations of

discrimination and violence, promote and enforce public policies that guarantee the human rights

of women. women and educate the community to make proactive and affirmative decisions in

defense of women's rights. "

Activity Final

As a final activity, I would like you to tell me 3 characteristics to identify a case of abuse of

women. classify the following characteristics.

 shy, aggressive, distant, possessive.

Women Men
 Shy  Aggressive
 Distant  Possessive

Conclusion;
At the end we can define that according to the OMS (2019) indicates that violence

against women is any act of gender violence that results in physical, sexual or psychological

harm to women, they can also be threats. Gender violence is something that is seen or heard

daily around the world. Many women and young people are victim of these abuses that can range

from a simple insult to a blow and end with the death of the victim. Many of these remain silent

for fear of their aggressor and think that they are the culprits of these acts of abuse. But that is

not how society should unite so that they do not have more abused women. That women can feel

free, loved and without fear of being victims of these terrible events. For this reason I urge that if

you know of any case or are victims, do not remain silent, seek the necessary help and thus ask

to avoid a death.
Questions:

1. What is mistreatment of women?

2. What law is used when a woman is abused?
