PROJECT LAKBAY: Localized Offline/Online Video Instruction

II. Objectives:

The aim of this project is to encourage learners to answer the Araling Panlipunan modules

and to acquire high academic performance for the whole year round. Thus, the three

objectives are being focus:

1. To keep learners continue to get high academic performance.

2. To engage learners to develop interactive mind set.

3. To develop higher order thinking skills and appreciation through watching videos.

III. DESCRIPTION, BACKGROUND and METHODOLIGIES

Henry Ford an American Industrialist said “ If money is your hope for

independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in

this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability”.

It is one’s said that knowledge is power. The famous line of the late TV

weather forecaster Ernie Baron who is a Filipino broadcaster and an inventor.He was

best known as the walking encyclopedia. Knowledge and ability is a necessity to

acquire of the learners at this moment because we are experiencing a catastrophe in

the whole world by COVID-19.

The government announces the Covid-19 and protocols were implemented

nationwide. The learners can not go to school face to face to study and that is the big

challenge for us, teachers. So, the parent serves as the substitute teacher.The

proponent wants to know if his learners are still coping up with the kind of teaching

modality that the Department of Education are implemented.

Pandemic caused by Covid-19 has a big factor in the disruption in education.

However, there is always our saying that “ In every problem, there is always a solution”.

Teachers are always find remedies to ensure that knowledge and wisdom is continue to

acquire by our learners in this time of catastrophic situation.

The learners need to follow the rules and guidelines from Inter-Agency Task Force

to stay at home to keep them safe. The proponent wants the learners to acquire knowledge

and understanding about our situation today.

As Araling Panlipunan teacher, I have encountered in my class various problems in

answering the Araling Panlipunan modules like submitting unfinished answered modules and

wrong answer that leads to low academic performance because of unfamiliarity with the

topics due to no face to face interaction.

To address the problems, the proponent introduce project LAKBAY (Laging

Alalay at Kaakibat ang Bidyo sa Araling Panlipunan sa lahat ng Yunit) that helps the

learners to easily answer the Araling Panlipunan modules by watching videos. The

videos can be access through official face book page of Araling Panlipunan Grade 6,

Bluetooth and share it.

In order to implement this project, the Grade 6 learners will need to watch

videos relating on the topics in MELC every quarter the whole year round.

V. IMPACT/ EXPECTED OUTPUT

Project LAKBAY is highly effective tool in increasing the academic performnace of

the learners. Hence, continued utilization of the said project must be made by teachers to

sustain or possibly increase further the academic performance of the learners.

Project LAKBAY

NARRATIVE REPORT

The Department of Education never stop in creating the new normal to a more

equitable quality education to all learners. As such, learning competencies were compressed

into Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) to ensure quality education and continuity

of learning amid this crisis which the pupils must be learned.

Albeit pandemic created turmoil and deterrent globally, the agency steadfast to the

continuity of the learning and pursue on its purpose that “Education must Continue and that

no one left behind” despite unprecedent adversary.

Learners nowadays were having difficulty in answering learning activity sheets in

Araling Panlipunan that causes low performance and submitting unfinished modules. The

problems were given alternative solution by the teacher/proponent through asking

permission to the principal sir Melozar F. Dizon to conduct innovation and to parents’

consent on the project launched that immediately favored consensually.

Project LAKBAY (Laging Alalay at Kaakibat ang Bidyo sa Araling Panlipunan sa lahat

ng Yunit) were speedily introduced to arrest problem of learners about unanswered modules

and low academic performance in Araling Panlipunan. Parents and the proponent agreed

that the instructional videos will be uploaded in official face book page of Araling Panlipunan

Grade 6 after the distribution of self-learning modules for them to watch and use as tools in

answering their LAS while for those who have no internet connection parents may access

the videos through share it and Bluetooth

The project was successfully implemented and utilized with the helped of the learners

and parents supported by the school principal sir Melozar F. Dizon.
