    Q.1 Define machine design.


    Q.2 what is an adaptive design?
    Q.3 Suggest briefly the steps to be followed by a designer
    Q.4 Classify common engineering materials.
    Q.5: What are the advantages of malleable cast iron over white or grey cast iron?
    Q.6 A standard alloy steel used for making engineering components is 20Cr18 Ni2. State the
    composition of the steel.
    Q. 7 How are plain carbon steel designated?
    Q.8 Name two important copper alloys and give their typical compositions.
    Q.9: State at least 5 important mechanical properties of materials to be considered in machine design.
