Evaluation & Assignment Scheme
Evaluation and Assignment Scheme:
Lecture 1:
Introduction about the subject. Making students understand the concept of of patent, design
patent, trademark registration and copyrights. They are also told about what are the validity
of copyright registration and patent.

Lecture 2 :
Students were asked to develop their design and they are supposed to develop a new idea that
can be implemented as a patent and can be registered through Sharda University as well.
They are instructed for the development of ideas that is the inception stage so they can
identify the problem and they can identify the solution as well. The solution is the basis of
selection of product. Since there are many product design solutions as well.
Lecture 3 :
This is the lecture in which the students were to present their design ideas, identifying the
problem that they identified and they are developing a design that is there to solve the
problem. The product should be unique and should solve the problems that masses can relate
to, this will be the reason that the product can be mass-produced.
Lecture 4 :
This is the buffer lecture where students will be show casing their designs and the next move
that they have to make the detailed designs for the design ideas that they have. This should
include the materials , mode of construction, uses and the problem that they might be solving
for the masses.
They can also collaborate and take guidance from IPR cell. They have to eventually find out
the requirements for registering the design and read from the challenges faced by the similar
design patents.
Marking 1 :
Here students have to present their progress with a buffer of 1 week that is being given to
them. The pointers on which they will be marked will be :
1. Problem solving solution
2. Saleable solution
3. Patent requirements
4. 30% Marks reserved for students taking part actively in the competition. *
*To obtain the 30% marks they have to show the improvement and their progress on the
competition. Submission 1 would constitute their group information and what space they are
working on and their design concepts (24/08/2023)
Marking 1 of IPR will be done by 24 August / 25th August. Students are expected to be
prepared as they have been given a buffer of 7 days before the marking.
