ANOTHER MASTER STROKE

Is our government really serious to abolish unemployment from the country? The rightest block will support this point of view but let me say actions speak louder than words. In fact, the situation is getting worse with each passing day. Another MASTER STROKE has been played by the government by annulment of the one year contract, under National Internship programme (NIP) being conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, without any prior notification. It has been duly signed by government and the employees at the time of joining that no party will extract itself from the contract without notifying the other at least before 15-20 days. The contract for the Batch 1, 2010 was to be from April 01, 2011 to March 31, 2012 but in spite of the rules and regulations to be observed herein from both the contractee, we the employees were told on July 18, 2011 that our contract has been annulled already since June 30, 2011 and the last 18 days were not to be included in our tenure for the ascribed posts on which we were working at the said time. In a way, we were KICKED OUT just after 3 months again to unemployment when we inquired about the situation from the concerned authorities, the NIP Provisional Focal Office (Punjab), the Section Officer NIP bluntly replied that NO BUDGET is fixed for NIP Interns separately for the running programme. Is anyone there to tell us, whats going on? And we people who set their life schedules and routines accordingly for one year; what to do now? It has been stated in the agreement that we cannot go for any other job during this time period and after this straight forward firing us out from the jobs where to go without even relieving certificates, it is said that boss is always right that may not be true our boss in the offices instead of relieving suggested that they will call us again if they find suitable amount of budget at hand. Now, when due to electricity short fall and the energy crisis for all sorts of fuel, even an educated person cannot find jobs in private sector then to which destination this winding path is pushing the youth of this country? In the hope of a better future the educated strata of society is flying to other countries by hook or by crook as soon as possible. My last question is Do we still afford this rapid brain drainage from the country? Give people respectable opportunities to lead life here otherwise we all know the fact that an educated but unemployed mind pose serious threat to any country in quest of his struggle for dignified life where his capabilities are recognized.
