4 2Tel is thinking about approaching T-Me with an acquisition offer. Based on initial discussions,
2Tel has received the impression that the offer will be considered favourably by T-Me if the
CEO and the other directors were employed, post acquisition, in an autonomous company
within the 2Tel Group. Vincent Sparks is sceptical, however, as to whether the directors could
be effective in 2Tel’s working environment, and indeed, whether they are needed at all.
Vincent is very interested in the area of change management, and at a recent conference he
spoke to another CEO whose company undertakes a strategic change evaluation before any
possible acquisition is made. In this evaluation, the company evaluates the strategic changes
required in any acquisition target in terms of time, preservation, diversity, capability and
readiness. Vincent would like to apply this methodology at 2Tel, in relation to the potential
acquisition of T-Me.
