Methodology: Direct Method

(a) Prior Knowledge: (Recap, Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, etc)

The teacher will explain the story/theme of the chapter “Nicobobinus” the story of a boy and his
friend rosie who set off to discover the land of dragon and find more adventure.

The teacher will read the first paragraph and then tell the meaning.

Difficult words: daft, squirm, shutters, weed ,jerkin.

Then the student will read the next paragraph and teacher will explain the meanings of different
words.

(b) Explanation:

The teacher will ask the students few questions


Q1:who is nicobobinus?

Q:2 who is rosie?

Q:3 why don’t people pay attention what rosie says?

Teacher will receive different responses. Then the teacher will tell the class exact answers of the
questions. This unit will enhance their positivity level and also enhance their vocabulary and reading
skill.

(c) Activity: 1) Students will read paragraphs turn by turn (from page no 1,2 and page no 3,4) and
Teacher will explain these lines and difficult meanings in simple words.

(d) Wrap-up: Quick rapid fire synonym game will be played with the students. Teacher will write
some words and ask the students to find out its meaning from unit.

jerkin: a sleeveless jacket , typically made of leather

shutters: wooden window covers.

squirm: to wriggle and twist the body from side to side

weed: to pull up wild plants growing in unwanted places

C.W: Students will do reading and create summary of the story till page # 4 by themselves (own
words)

H.W: All words meanings (page 1) and questions ( a-e)?

What we have to do when we are in some trouble? How would you have managed in the same
situation like nicobobinus?

A challenging question will be ask by the teacher to check their learning.

Q: What is the interesting thing in this chapter “Nicobobinus”?

Differentiation: The teacher will give extra attention to struggling learners by assigning them to
speak difficult words with correct pronunciation and recall their meaning to understand the
paragraph easily.
