Overview 7
This guide will walk you through installing the data DVDs and configuring the OPC
program to use the Data from the DVDs.
· The OPC program software on the DVD may be older than the software available in
the OPC website. We recommend you install the software from the OPC website to
ensure each computer will have access to new features and functionality as they are
introduced.
· If you do not have access to the OPC program via the desktop icon, install the OPC
program from Disk 1 of the OPC Data DVD first. Use the instructions provided on disk
1 under \Docs\Installation Guides. For information on installing the OPC program,
please see the OPC program instruction guide found on Disk 1 of the OPC Data DVD
under the \Docs\Installation_Guides folder.
If you are not able to open the program and see the OPC program Home Page, you can
still install the program after the data install is complete.

8 Online Parts Catalog™ Data DVD
Before installing the Online Parts Catalog™ Data DVD there are a few steps to review
to ensure that installation is successful:
· Review all the computers at your dealership where the OPC Data DVD will be
installed to make sure they meet the minimum hardware and operating system
requirements. For information on system requirements, please see the OPC
program instruction guide found on Disk 1 of the OPC Data DVD under the
\Docs\Installation_Guides folder.
· Shut down the OPC program for all users who are currently accessing the
folder where the existing OPC Data DVD is installed.
· Make sure your computer's DVD drive is clean and functioning properly.
· Make sure the OPC Data DVDs are clean and are not heavily scratched.
· If you accept the default installation location (\pvdatastore), verify that the folder
does not have a 'Read Only' attribute applied to it.
· Turn off or disable any virus-scanning programs (i.e. McAfee, Norton, etc.) prior
to installing the OPC Data DVD.
· This install does require Microsoft .NET to perform the installation process. If
it is not already installed on the computer you are using, you will be prompted
to install it before you can complete the OPC Data DVD installation. For more
information on the Microsoft .NET install, please see the OPC program
instruction guide found on Disk 1 of the OPC Data DVD under the
\Docs\Installation_Guides folder.
