To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to recommend Rachel Storch for a teaching position in your school district.

I became acquainted with Miss Rachel Storch when she started her student teaching placement at Lackawanna
High School in Mr. DeCecco’s 11th grade U.S. History class. As a Special Education Consultant Teacher in the
classroom, I had the fortunate opportunity of building a collaborative and reflective working relationship with
Rachel.

From January 23 to March 17, 2023, Rachel created and led instructional lessons covering the time periods of
the Progressive Era, Rise of American Power, Prosperity, and the start of the Great Depression. Through each
unit, Rachel carefully planned and prepared lessons. As she planned for and reflected on lessons, reviews and
assessments, Rachel actively collaborated with Mr. DeCecco and me throughout the process. Rachel kept
students thoughtfully engaged and appropriately challenged. She provided a variety of teaching methods,
strategies, and use of technology to enhance and differentiate lesson activities. To foster a welcoming and
positive learning environment, Rachel approached classroom management using connection, consistency,
conversation, and community with all students.

Rachel is a conscientious person who carries herself with enthusiasm, confidence, and initiative. She brings with
her a great passion for education and a deep interest in the diversity of historical and current events. I admire
and respect Rachel’s motive to teach. As she shared with me herself: “I want to prepare our youth to take on
our ever-changing world. I enjoy the diversity of history; there is a little something for every student. Whether
they're interested in women's rights, the military, the impact of war, or economics, there is a little piece of
history for everyone.”

Rachel has demonstrated that she is a caring and professional individual with a genuine concern for her
students’ needs and their learning outcomes. Further, Rachel is thoughtful of the social and emotional trials
adolescents experience as they grow and develop. She commits herself to establishing an environment that is
welcoming and safe for all. In her time at our high school, Rachel has shown great respect for all her students.

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Rachel Storch as a teacher. She would be a wonderful and valued asset to your
school district. If you have any questions, you may contact me on my cell phone: (716) 698-4292.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Bratcher, 7-12 Special Education Teacher
