HOW AND WHY 10 ENCLOSED ARTEFACTS HAVE SUPPORTED THE DEVELOPMENT OF MY EMPLOYABILITY? (500 words)

The society in which we live is characterized by a fast pace of development and we need to keep up with it. For the development of our career
it is important to be in step with what is happening in our field of activity and to be up to date with the news. Another advantage is the possibility
to get inspired by the success stories of others, who have managed to achieve their goals. Whether it's college or a job, we want to be as
productive and as good as possible in what we do. The ability to analyze, self-criticism of our own actions, but also the way we receive
feedback can lead to a better version of ourselves.
The courses I taken at BNU prepared me to have support in my career, they improved my knowledge and creativity, I realized what suits me
and what does not, and with the help of a mentor, I was able to build a development plan. In the university programs I had the opportunity to
meet interesting people, teachers or colleagues, and to choose role models for my future career. The lecturers at BNU gave me formative
feedback that improved my ineffective oral or written communication behaviors and also improved my assertive communication, being able to
impugn a point of view without harming the feelings of the interlocutor. I have learned that a number of academic work techniques, such as the
correct use of the style of quoting a consulted text / book (for example, Harvard style referencing), are necessary to assimilate, for a correct
and useful research work. I also learned that decision making is a conscious process that can be better developed.
The recognition of merits is an important aspect in our development and leads to increased self-esteem, a sensitive point for all of us.
Whether we want to have the best grades or to be among those who get awards, whether we want to be among the best employees at work,
receive bonuses or be advanced, we all want our actions to be recognized by others. On the other hand, the courses taken here have shown me
that getting involved in other activities, than those in college or at work, can also give us satisfaction on a personal level, not just professionally.
The courses I took suggested that I should also turn my attention to my hobbies, attend self-defense classes, dance, acting, painting, sports, go
on trips, etc. The courses at BNU (whether they were academic writing, the development of IT skills or communication skills) helped me to
get an overview of my own person, to figure out what are the things I am happy with and the ones I need to improve. Depending on these, I can
set myself some realistic goals for my subsequent route in life.
Access to the virtual library of BNU, has contributed a great advantage to improve my research skills, with a great saving of time and effort,
and at the same time a motivation to increase the level of my instructive-educational program.
The most important thing I learned at BNU was to be able to argue an idea, whether it is a personal opinion or a more scientific thesis.

3
Furthermore, we have learned that argumentation is based on debates and negotiations between the parties involved, and it is very important
for people to use this instrument to protect their interests through rational dialogue, and so everyone defends their ideas without rejecting the
others' ideas. Professional development must be seen primarily as a personal development. The skills I have acquired will be useful first of all
to me, and only then to the employer. And I'm going to choose to change my job or refocus professionally, I'm going to take these new skills with
me. The courses I took at BNU confirmed to me that, whether you want to develop yourself personally or you want a successful career, the
solution is the same: continuous learning. And most importantly, the benefits are very high in relation to investments (both financial and time).

TITLE AND How you can continue to focus on Career Planning during the Covid-19 Lockdown
WEBLINK https://portal.lsst.ac/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=2214
The coronavirus crisis poses a threat to the European economy and the standard of living of citizens. During this
crisis, it has become vital that not only critical sectors of the economy, technology and infrastructure, but also jobs and
workers, must be protected.
The crisis caused by the pandemic has brought more attention to the level of preparedness of employers for
managing a major crisis, as well as transparency and the way of communicating with employees. From this point of view,
companies seem to have successfully managed the health crisis, health protocols and safety at work being aspects that
have brought the highest level of trust from employees.
Although the problems related to the changes in the structure of the labor force are prior to the Covid-19 pandemic
(increased digitization, remote work, etc.) with the pandemic it has become clear that the knowledge necessary to cope

cope with the new demands of the labour market.
Personally, I am aware that digital skills will become indispensable. The most sought-after hard skills are analytical
reasoning, scientific calculation, mobile application development and video production, therefore, I will seek to invest
more in the development of these skills that prepare you for the jobs of the future, but also help shape the way of
thinking and reacting. On the other hand, soft skills, or social skills, will help future employees to make themselves
noticed from a crowd.
Therefore, I must also improve these qualities that illustrate my way of relating to professional and everyday aspects,
the ability to learn from my own mistakes or successes and the attitude I have about my own personal and professional
path. A candidate's social skills reveal his or her character to the employer, while technical skills present the candidate's
12
set of knowledge. The more a candidate has a series of better developed soft skills, the more coveted and complex a
candidate will be, ready to adapt to the changes. Therefore, I will try to develop more during this period my creativity,
critical thinking, perseverance and communication, skills that will be as relevant as the digital ones for the employee in
the pandemic and post-pandemic period.

The courses I took at BNU put me in a lot of new situations, and these came with a lot of academic work, but also
social skills that I needed to develop in order to manage all the projects and activities successfully.
First of all, I had to develop my ability to argue a point of view, and in order to do that, I needed to develop my speech
skills and an appropriate academic vocabulary. I have developed a good writing and habit of making notes and
references every time I use a quote.
Secondly, I increased and developed my reading skills, mastering some techniques of speed in reading, which helped

Fourth, I developed one of my most important academic skills, which is research. This refers to strategies for

Appendix 10 Blog – How to Prepare for The Future Job Market?

The labor market has always been in a continuous transformation, in an era of automation, in which the digitalization of work has brought
more advantages, with more accessible and flexible jobs. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has put a lot of pressure on the labor market: remote
work has been full-time, and employees have benefited from this opportunity that has given them the freedom to work from any corner of the
world.
A constructive discussion about the future of the labor market after the pandemic should not be about the transformations that will occur (it is
clear that they have already taken place), but it must be about how we can take advantage of the benefits produced by these changes.
Technological changes will continue to shape the labour market, so lifelong learning will be essential. Those who want to keep up with
technological changes and last as long as possible in the labour market must be open to constantly learn new skills and competences.
Resistance to change will quickly take those who don't.
Unfortunately, most countries have not adapted their education systems to the demands of the labour market. Young people are not prepared
for the realities of the labor market, they do not have the necessary skills and competences for current trades.
All education systems must be built on a new philosophy, of lifelong learning. Education systems must teach young people skills that robots do
not have (yet): entrepreneurship, teamwork, curiosity, adaptability.
On the other hand, it is not only employees who need to adapt to a future labor market. So should the companies in which they work. The
companies need to change their policies to support the needs of their employees. First, companies need to improve their policies aimed at
working from home or flexible hours that would support female employees. Secondly, a company must make its employees feel safe, a quality
that can hardly get and that involves a fairly high cost of time, money and resources.
