Project Intervention
Project ALPHA (Actively Learning and Participating in
Highlighting Arithmetic) was introduced to help develop their love and
interest on the basics of arithmetic and establish active participation while
learning the subject. The teacher used various strategies to teach them the
basics of multiplication and division such as selecting randomly who will
recite the table of multiplication before the class starts. This also serve as
their energizer or ice breaker. Pupils need to be ready every time because
they do not know when they will be called to recite. It was exciting and at
the same time challenging for them. Worksheets and other activities were
also given to them during remediation. Games, songs, and videos about
math were also incorporated into the lesson.
Here are the photos gathered during the implementation of the
project.
After three months utilization of the project ALPHA, the teacher gave
the respondents another test comprising items with the least mastered
competencies mentioned in the problem statement. 8 out of 18 pupils or
44% mastered the skills.
Since the 100% percent target of the program was not met, the
teacher will continue to use the intervention year-round until all the
respondents mastered the basics skills in arithmetic.
Attached herewith are the tools used in utilizing the project ALPHA.
