The walk tour visits many of the business locations and reflects on
Carmen’s rich life.

lesbihonest
LESBIHONEST in its formality is a one-hour, one-woman comedic show
following a journey of “coming outs”; relaying the unraveling and rebuild-
ing of self-identity, alongside societal shifts towards LGBTQIA+ people.

In reality, this is a girl with a mic and a lifetime of stories to share. This
show took 35 years to live, five to write, and an hour to perform. The show
is a living piece of how they feel about their past in this very moment, on
this day. Each show will be a new adventure, traveling through these mo-
ments as if living them in retrospect for the first time on stage.

I am King/Queen

RM Holmes presents I Am King/Queen. A gripping autobiographical per-

formance following his search to find herself, exploring their gender, re-
ligious upbringing and cultural ties in Australia, Aotearoa – New Zealand
and the Pacific Islands.

Roymata shows it’s about the journey, not the destination. This coming-of-
age extravaganza is a high-energy night of traditional and modern dance,
physical theatre, and the quickest Drag transformation you’ve ever seen!

The show begins with the performer representing a strong male figure,
through the show he weaves and threads their personal story from grow-
ing up in Far North Queensland Australia to international stardom leaving
us on the edge of our seats wanting more as he introduces their Drag
person Miss Martoya.

Holmes said he hoped the show can help transform the public conver-
sation about gender and identity to a place of deeper understanding and
respect.

Past, Present and Future
Wellington Pride Festival presents the 2023 Youth Ball - a safe event
celebrating diversity in queer identities, put on by our 2023 Board
members and amazing volunteers. This year the Youth Ball theme
is “ICONIQUE - past, present and future”. This is inspired by Wel-
lington Pride Festival’s overall theme, which is “Ka Mua Ka Muri”. Ka
Mua, Ka Muri speaks to looking at the past, to understand the pres-
ent, and inform the future. Wellington rangatahi are undeniably iconic
and unique, so show up as your ICONIQUE self! Get creative and
celebrate your identity in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Wear
something that represents your ICONIQUE self. Be unapologetically
you. The 2023 Youth Ball will feature amazing Drag performers, a low

“And/Or” - Celebrating
Queer Ethnic Identities
- A panel discussion

Embodying Wellington Pride Festival’s 2023 theme of ‘Ka Mua, Ka

Muri’, this panel aims to bring to life the voices often left out of history.
Full of beautiful ethnic queer voices, our panellists - Vivian Lyngdoh,
Vinod Bal, Chinwe Akomah, Gina Dao-McLay, and Ana Jurado - will
tell their stories of identities that span binaries, continents, cultures,
and languages, and discuss what it means to be proudly ethnic and
queer in a world where they are often forced to choose one.
