(Make your own title that is catchy and is presenting your position)

I. INTRODUCTION
Provide content in ESSAY FORM:
1. background information based on write ups/ research/updates and context,
2. define terms in the topic, identify the issue and
3. state your position whether agree or disagree.

II. DISCUSSION/BODY
Provide content in ESSAY FORM:
1. Discussion of POSITION per Points or Argument #1 with evidence/s #1… and so on
2. CITE references

III. CONCLUSION
Provide content in ESSAY FORM:
Summary of the paper’s key points. FINAL STATEMENT to emphasize the POSITION.

IV. REFERENCES
Provide content, enumerated:
1. At least 3 References used in the discussion of arguments following APA style 7 th
Edition.

LESSON 9: PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP


REQUIREMENTS:

1. WRITTEN TASK – POSITION PAPER of the assigned topic and side Affirmative or
Negative) FOR DEBATE
a. GIVEN TEMPLATE will be followed / printed output is required
b. CRITERIA will be as follows:
 Format followed /instructions completed – 15 points
 Completeness (all areas supplied with credible information) – 50 points
 Content (Substance / essence / validity of claims) – 35 points
TOTAL: 100 POINTS
c. INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION /PEER ASSESMENT will be reported/documented
in part V. of the paper.
d. Submission date: January 4, 2022

2. PERFORMANCE TASK - DEBATE GUIDELINES

1. EACH pair is matched with another pair to debate on a certain topic. Each should
defend their side (affirmative or negative).
2. Maximum time allotment for each discourse is 10 minutes. Random selection during
presentation will be done.
3. MEDIUM of presentation – English/Tagalog
4. Each group/triad shall prepare the following information as outlined based on their
assigned debate side used in the position paper. (AFFIRMATIVE or NEGATIVE):
A. SHORT Introduction /premise /background of the topic ASSIGNED and their
stand.
B. POINTS of argument for rebuttal (3 valid reason/strong points of their stand or
argument with Proof citations / evidence that claims their stand.
C. CLOSING STATEMENT - concluding statement to end their stand.
