Having studied physics for my Undergraduate degree, I have a firm grasp of the fundamental

quantitative concepts. I've also done a lot of experimental data crunching as a part of my
coursework in Physics. The seeds of my fascination with data analysis were sown during that
time. I've always been a curious person since childhood, and I like to discern the pattern in
what's seeming chaos. It's all these facts about me that led me to Business Analytics. I have
been keen on learning more about the various skills and methods used by Business Analysts to
make sense of the massive amount of data available to them. I know that by pursuing the MS in
Business Analytics at the Leeds School of Business, CU Boulder, I will be able to learn the
subject in-depth and step into the field equipped with all necessary knowledge and skills.

I completed my 10th grade and 12th grade in 2013 and 2015, respectively. I took a year to
prepare for several entrance examinations. I graduated in 2019 from St. Xavier's College
(Autonomous), Mumbai, with a bachelor's degree in Physics. I come from a very quantitative
educational background. I have also worked on some data analysis projects as a part of college
coursework. I believe these facts would greatly help me pursue the data science course. I have
a firm grasp of many quantitative concepts, thanks to my background in Physics and
Mathematics. I also have some foundational knowledge of programming languages like Python
and SQL. These skills play a significant role in developing my interest & will help me more
effectively assimilate the knowledge imparted in the classroom during the course.

While in college, I was a part of the workforce of the annual college fest "Malhar" in 2017 &
2018. I worked as a part of the logistics department. Apart from "Malhar", I also worked in the
ground management team of the annual science exhibition "Paradigm" in 2017. I also
contributed to social work by volunteering with an NGO which helped underprivileged students
from the backward sections of the society and helped them with their studies by providing them
with free tutoring. These activities I took part in college proved to be a blessing for me in
disguise as they helped me a lot in my overall personality development. Participating in these
activities also helped me in overcoming my shortfalls in terms of restricted social interaction and
made me more open to new experiences. Tutoring students for the NGO helped me sharpen my
communication skills even further.

I started working as a Business Development Intern at UniAcco in January 2020 and worked
there till March 2020. Then, I waited for a year and searched for a job that would demand my
skills and potential. I have worked as an Operations Executive with Cactus Communications in
the Quality Assurance Department from September 2021 to March 2022. Currently, I'm working
as a Business Operations Executive with NexTen Brands in the e-commerce industry. My
current responsibilities include handling the entire e-commerce portfolio for the partner brands.
My work also contains certain brand management activities like carrying out competitor analysis,
pricing analysis, creating a social media strategy and working on some data analysis and
reporting. The Business Development Internship helped me understand the basics of
establishing a business and how to effectively communicate with the customers and gain their
trust. Working as an Operations Executive with Cactus Communications helped me to develop a
very keen eye for detail and made me adept at managing my time effectively and adhering to
strict deadlines. My current job as a Business Operations Executive with NexTen Brands has
helped me to take a deep dive into the e-commerce industry and understand all the processes
involved in running a successful e-commerce business.

I chose the US as my preferred destination for study because of the overall cost-effectiveness
and superior quality of education. Another reason for choosing the US as my preferred study
destination was that the duration of most programs is less than the other destinations, meaning I
will be able to resume working more quickly. After completing my education, I will have excellent
professional options in the world class business ecosystem of the US. The US's reputation for
high-quality education is well-known around the world. Some of the brightest minds in the world
are drawn to the US by its reputation and history as a global hub for scientific research. The US
produces the most cutting-edge and ground-breaking research in the field of data science and
analysis with most of the major companies operating in this field located in the US.

The MS (Business Analytics) will expose me to Business Analytics & Data Science, fields that
use data to derive actionable business insights. This course seeks to improve abilities in
comprehending various types and sources of data as well as the kinds of issues that one may
desire to examine using data. It also contextualizes and integrates the problems that many
businesses face and how to find solutions to those business problems. This course will
familiarize me with the role that big data analytics and data visualization approaches play in
generating corporate value. I will also be able to use software tools like Apache Spark and
Python to tackle a range of challenging data-centered business challenges. This course will
provide me with practical experience utilizing industry-standard modeling. With the assistance of
this course, I will learn the latest tools and technologies for carrying out data analysis,
forecasting and reporting, knowledge of programming languages like Python, SQL and R,
knowledge of Statistical Methods, AI and Machine Learning, etc.

My plan is to pursue a career in data science and business analysis. I will contribute to the
university by bringing a fresh perspective to the class by virtue of the fact that I come from a
different country and have a very different working background. I can also contribute by bringing
strong work ethics and commitment to success in the course and being a valuable alumni
member. I believe that this course will adequately prepare me for the same by teaching me the
necessary skills and latest techniques required to carry out my work as effectively as possible.
My short-term goal is to successfully apply all the knowledge that I learn in college and establish
myself as a reliable and knowledgeable employee. Staying on this track and moving forward in
my career will lead me to my long-term goal of taking on a leadership position and establishing
myself as a great manager in the field of data science in India.

I have been inquisitive and interested in data science since college. I have also been involved in
some data analysis work at my current company. It is my keen interest in data science, and the
fact that I have some experience in data analysis makes me a suitable candidate for this course.
