Written Output #1 ( For the Final Term) Please use your own words. Answers that are
copied and pasted will be scored Zero.

1. What is assessed in the classroom? Explain. (5 points)

We assessed what our educational objectives are, as what the students should learn at the end
of the course. We focused on the learning standards such as content standards, performance
standards, learning competencies and concept formation.

2. What are components of summative assessment? Explain each. (10 points)

The components of Summative assessment are: Written Work Component, can be obtained
from what the students have learned then express it through written form. Performance Tasks
Component is by having the students showcase what they have learned through different
activities that have a relation in real life. Lastly, is the Quarterly Assessment, it is from
measuring what the students have developed and understand throughout the end of the quarter.

3. How the Kindergarten learner’s progress recorded and computed. (5 points)

The kindergarten students do not have numerical grades, instead we show the parents a
checklist and a portfolio that shows the progress of each student.

4. Why does the performance task in learning areas in all grade levels considered most
significant and is given the highest weighted score?(10 points)

In doing performance tasks we see how the students use their learnings in ways that can relate
to real life situations, we give the highest weighted score for this because it is the most
important, the students should know how to apply their learnings in many different ways that can
benefit their creativity, innovation and social skills.

5. How are the learners’ behavior relative to the values of MakaDiyos, Makabayan,
Makatao, and Makakalikasan reported? ( 5 points)

Every report card has a Report on the learner's observed values table. Each core value is
divided into behavior statements that are being observed by the advisers and being
non-numerical graded.
6. When is a learner retained to the grade level? Explain. (5 points)
A final grade of 75 is the expected grade to be promoted to the next grade level. If the learners
in grade 1-10 did not meet the expectations in one or two learning areas they need to take
remedial class and if they did not pass or if they have 3 or more learning areas that did not meet
the expectations, they will be retained to the same grade level.

7. At the end of the school year Tess, a grade 6 student, got final grades of 74 in Science
and 73 in English. Will Tess be promoted to Junior High School? Explain the reason for
your answer. 10 points.

Maybe, if Tess can pass her remedial class, then she can because in order to receive an
Elementary certificate and be promoted to Junior high school Tess needed to pass all the
learning areas.

8. “ Nobody fails in the New Curriculum.” This is heard among students, parents and
even teachers. Is this true? Justify your answer. (10 points)

No, even if we have ways to help the students pass and be promoted in every year level
however, there are students who are not willing to make an effort because they make their own
grades. If the students are not moving then we have no choice but to fail them
