Writing Task 2 (Two-question Essay)

Nowadays, entertainers get paid more than politicians.

What are the reasons for this?
Is this a negative or positive development?
For the last few decades, it is obvious that the salary paid to celebrities is way higher than
lawmakers. This is because the growth of social platforms gives people more opportunities to
get well-paid jobs and I personally believe that this trend has positive impact on our society.
To begin with, there are several reasons why many rich people often come from entertaining
sector. Firstly, entertainers such as movie stars or YouTubers have many sources of income
thanks to the cutting-edge technology. Meanwhile, politicians only receive basic salary from the
government, though they have perfectly completed their duties. Secondly, there are some
restrictions for state officials when they cannot advertise for any brands, however, celebrities
can earn a huge amount of money through these activities. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo
could earn millions per year from product placement on TV, which is the average 20-year salary
of a government official. Therefore, stars could overweight ministers in terms of revenue
generation.
In addition, public figures could promote ethical values and have positive influence on each and
every individual. Many famous people support social justice and make significant contributions
to getting rid of poverty and hunger. They are considered as great examples of appropriate
behaviors and attitudes. For example, many of them support humanitarian campaigns and raise
money for people who suffer from cancer or severe diseases while others donate to medical
organization to improve people’ stamina. Moreover, celebrities who live decent lives play an
important role in the general public when they emphasize the importance of traditional norms
like honest relationships and personal integrity for the younger people.
To conclude, while people working in entertainment industry could earn a large amount of
money from doing multiple jobs, political leaders are unable to earn income from other
sources. However, entertainers still play an important role in influencing young generation on
both physical and mental aspects.

while the bar graph gives information about the amount of water consumed for daily activities.

used it for the kitchen.
At the first glance, water usage in houses accounted for more than 60% in 2004, while the
figure for apartments was nearly 20%. In contrast, business and industry had the same ratio
with approximately 18%. Government comprised 18% of total water consumption in Australia
and other sectors made up only 5% of water use.
The average Australian used more than 28% of water for bathroom in 2004. Gardening had the
second highest percentage of water usage with 26%, followed by washing clothes with 20%.
Whereas the proportion of water used for toilet and kitchen in 2004 were 15% and 10%,
respectively.
