ORDER:-

Consequent to the out-of-court settlement reached between the Government

of Puducherry and the Puducherry Executive & Technical Officers Association,
Puducherry and Puducherry Stenographers Welfare Association, Puducherry the
SLP (Civil) Nos. 25025 & 25026/2013 and SLP (Civil) Nos. 34171 & 35570/2013
filed by the said Associations challenging the amalgamation of the posts of
Superintendent Gr-II and Gr-I as Superintendent w.e.f. 01.01.1996 vide
G.O.Ms.No.106, dated 07.01.2006 of DP&AR(PW), Puducherry, have been disposed
by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India vide order dated 09.01.2015, as follows:

"We dispose these petitions in terms of the settlement arrived

at between the parties and terms and conditions of the
settlement shall form part and parcel of this order".

2. Among other things in the terms of agreement, it has been agreed by

the Government that the restructuring the Stenographer cadre with adequate
promotional opportunities which has already been approved by the Government will be
implemented with the approval of the Competent Authority. Therefore, after careful
examination of the proposal which is approved by the Administrative Reforms Wing and
after ascertaining the sanctioned strength of Stenographer cadre in various
Departments/ Offices, this Department has proposed to re-structure the cadre of
Stenographer.

3. Hence, as per the terms of agreement, sanction of the Lieutenant

Governor, Puducherry is hereby accorded to the re-structure of Stenographer cadre
as follows:

5. This order takes immediate effect and the posts will stand operated with
effect from the date when they are filled up.

6. The expenditure shall be debitable to the same Head of Accounts to which

hitherto debited.

7. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide I.D. Note
No. 971/FD/F3/2015, dated 13.01.2016.
