Fees
1. ‘School Fees’ as fixed by the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence is to be paid in
advance and is charged for an academic year ie from 01 Apr to 31 Mar. The students are also required to
pay clothing money, pocket money and miscellaneous expenses along with the fees. The School fees
and dues are to be paid in a lump sum at the time of admission / in the beginning of the School term.
2. Fees and other charges are liable for an upward revision, approximately 10% per annum, as per
the directions of the Boards of Governors, Sainik Schools Society.
3. Present School fees and other charges for the Academic Session 2010-11 are as follows:-
Note:- (a) Late fees @ 14% per annum would be levied for late payees.
(b) The School fees is required to be paid in FULL at the time of admission and the
scholarship amount will be adjusted on receipt of the same from Govt of Bihar/Ministry
of Defence at the end of the year.
(c) In case of any increase of School fees and other charges by the Board of
Governors, Sainik Schools Society, parents / guardians are required to pay the difference
in amount without fail.
Scholarships
5. The Govt of Bihar grants Income based Scholarships for Bihar domicile students every year on
the basis of income of parents/guardian.
Note:- In case of Bihar domicile boys, Govt of Bihar shall grant an amount of Rs 5,162.50 as
dietary supplement every year, in addition to the above scholarship.

Defence Scholarship
7. Ministry of Defence awards scholarship to the children of Service Personnel including Ex-
servicemen who are studying in Sainik Schools. The Scholarship once awarded to pupil will continue to
be awarded to him throughout his stay in the School provided:-
(a) He obtains a minimum of 55% in aggregate in the Annual Examination every year with
not less than 45% in each subject.
(c) He is otherwise eligible for the continuance of scholarship on the basis of rank or income
of his parent as the case may be.
8. The amount of Scholarship would be determined on the basis of rank of the personnel.
Scholarship to children of service personnel/ex-servicemen will be admissible as given below:-
9. In addition to the above Scholarships, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India has also introduced a
monetary grant to share the burden of the parents/guardians and granting an approx amount of
Rs 9,000.00 (variable) per annum to all the students of Sainik Schools irrespective of parents / guardians
income and domicile.
10. An income certificate attested by District Magistrate will have to be produced at the beginning of
every year before 15 May for the award/renewal of State Govt/Defence Scholarship.
