Aquatic Program Descriptions


Learn to Swim, Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills. Gain awareness of the aquatic environment, learn
how to float on front and back, submerge self under water; glide with face in water, and swimming on front
and back.

Learn to Swim, Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills. Build on Level 1 skills and concepts. Prerequisite:
Passed Level 1 or able to do following, unassisted: glide to instructor with face in the water, front crawl &
sculling 10yds, float on front and back, and submerge self under the water.

Learn to Swim Level 3: Stroke Development. Build on the skills learned in Levels 1 and 2. Achieve basic
water competency in a pool environment. Prerequisite: Completed Level 2 skills and concepts or able to
swim 15 yards, nonstop, using front crawl and backstroke.

Learn to Swim Level 4: Improve proficiency in performing the swimming strokes learned in Level 3.
Prerequisite: Successful demonstration of the Learn-to-Swim Level 3 exit skills assessment or able to swim
25 yards nonstop using, front crawl and backstroke; able to swim 15 yards breaststroke.

Swim Team: Review and refine front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke. Prerequisite: Able to swim 25
yards, nonstop, using the front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke.

Water Exercise: Join in the fun with medium impact work out in the water, which includes core strengthening,
breathing exercise, and a whole body workout.

Lifeguard Course: Pre-required Swim/Agility Tests (Warning: These tests require “good” to advanced stamina to
complete w/ no refund if applicant unable to pass or told to STOP test for his/her own safety):
 300 yds. swim test using front crawl AND modified breast strokes (non-stop) keeping head up
 Swim 20 yards; retrieve 10 lb. weight from 10 foot depth; return w/ weight above water; exit water without
using ladder/steps (Time Limit: 1 minute 40 seconds)
 Tread water 2-minutes with arms across chest & hands under armpits

Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED


The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is designed to help participants recognize and
respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach
participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person when minutes
matter, and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.

This is a certified American Red Cross Course, certificate will be valid for 2yrs. Payment will be made day
of the course.
