GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 The detailed information of the admission procedure will be displayed on the University
website. Candidates are advised to check the University website regularly for updates.
1.2 After declaration of the merit list a copy of the list will be displayed on the University
website. The candidate himself/herself will have to check his/her merit number from the
merit list. The merit list will not be published in the newspaper.
1.3 All fees deposited at the time of registration will not be refunded under any
circumstances.
1.4 As directed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, action will be taken against the students
who indulge in incidence like ragging during studentship.
1.5 Those candidates who have been expelled from any University/College/Institution or
found guilty under Indian Penal Code are not eligible for admission to any course in the
University of Lucknow.
1.6 All reservations would be given as per State Government policies and University
guidelines.
1.7 Candidates claiming benefit of reservation shall have to produce the category certificate
which could be verified through Government website.
1.8 All original certificates have to be produced at the time of interview. Photocopies or
internet copies and provisionals will not be considered.
1.9 The final seat matrix would be prepared department wise as per the Government
reservation policy.
1.10 If you want benefit of reservation, then give the details of the related certificates during
the filling of the online registration form. No candidate will get the permission for any
change in reservation after the form is submitted.
1.11 The Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy
Layer) candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of
reservation. Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Non-
Creamy Layer) candidates of other states will be treated as general.
1.12 All admissions are provisional. University reserves the right to cancel any admission at
any stage.
1.13 In case of any matter relating to the D.Litt./D.Sc./LL.D. Admissions, the decision of the
Vice-Chancellor/Admission Committee, University of Lucknow shall be final and
binding.
1.14 All the legal matters pertaining to the D.Litt./D.Sc./LL.D. Admissions shall be subject
to the Lucknow Jurisdiction only.

2. ELIGIBILITY

2.1 A candidate seeking admission to D.Litt./DSc/LLD programme of the University, must have
pursued outstanding research in the concerned discipline and obtained the minimum
qualifications required for admission as mentioned below. The candidate:
(a) must have obtained a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree from any Indian or Foreign
University recognized by the UGC, in the concerned discipline.
(b) must have ten years experience in Teaching, Research, Administration or as
Professionals after obtaining Ph.D. degree.
(c) must have published a minimum of 15 research papers, related to the proposed area
of post-doctoral research, in UGC listed journals or in journals with an impact factor of
minimum of 2.0 (Scopus/SCI Indexed). Further, the candidate should be the first
author/corresponding author in these publications.

3. FILLING THE APPLICATION FORM

3.1 A candidate, who is seeking admission to D.Litt./ D.Sc./ LL.D. programme and who is
eligible for admission in accordance with Clause 2 of the Ordinance will have to follow the
following steps to fill the application form:

Step 1. Fill the online Application Fees Form

o Applicants have to fill the relevant details in the application fees form. These fields cannot be
edited later.
o Applicants will receive their login details in the mobile number and email ID provided at the
time of filling the application fees form.
o Applicants have to enter their personal details.
o Applicants have to upload their photo and scanned signature.
o Applicants can preview all the entries made at this point.
o If all the entries in the application fees form are correct the applicant can proceed for payment
of the application fees.
o Form fees can be submitted by Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking.

Step 2. Print Application Fees form

o Applicants can print their complete application fees form and fee receipt. Applicants have to
retain this printout which will be needed later on.

Step 3. Application form

o Download and take the printout the application form (.pdf file) from the website of
Lucknow University. Fill this application form completely.

Step 4. Submission of Application form

o The completely filled application form along with the printout of the application fees
form, receipt of the application fees and the supporting documents related to
reservation, educational qualifications etc. shall be submitted by hand or registered
post before the last date to the respective department.
o The documents required to be annexed with the application form shall be as follows:
· His/ her bio-data giving the details of educational qualifications, fields of
specialization, research experience, academic distinctions, etc., along with a
passport size photograph.
· Six copies of detailed synopsis of about 1500 to 3000 words on the proposed
theme of research highlighting its originality and applicability to solve societal
problems.
· A brief account of his/her past research work, in about 1000 words on the
discipline in which he/she has applied for admission to D.Litt./D.Sc./LL.D.
programme, indicating how it is contributory to the advancement of knowledge.
· List of publications.
· Self-attested copies of certificates in support of reservation (if applicable),
qualifications and experience.
· Print out of the application fee form and receipt.
· Documents related to reservation (if applicable).

4 PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION


The duly constituted post-doctral research committee shall evaluate the quality of the
publications at the time of scrutiny and recommend the eligible candidates for
admission.

5 REQUIREMENTS FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICAION FEES FORM FILLING


· Valid Email ID
· Aadhar No.
· Active Mobile Number
o Mobile number should be with the applicant at the time of form filling.
o All relevant information regarding admission would be sent to this mobile number and e-mail ID.
· Alternate Mobile Number
· Scanned Photo in JPEG format (Maximum upload size is 50 KB only)
· Scanned Signature in jpeg format (Maximum upload size is 50 KB only)
· It is the sole responsibility of the student to go through the Guidelines and check his/ her
eligibility at the time of application. We are not verifying the eligibility at the time of
application. The eligibility will be verified by the University at the time of
Counseling/Admission.

· Registration/Application Fee: Rs. 2000.00

· Photo ID proof (for entering number)


o Any one of the following for entering the number at the designated place in the online registration
form:
§ Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport.
· EWS Certificate
o Applicants who want to avail the benefit of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats have to
choose yes in the personal information page. The certificate for this can be uploaded on the page
where there option of uploading photo and signature. It is not compulsory to upload the certificate
at the time of form filling. They would be needing the following certificates at the time of
counseling
§ EWS certificate issued by the appropriate authority
· Caste Certificate
o The number of caste certificate issued by the competent authority will have to be entered for
availing the benefit of reservation for OBC, SC and ST applicants. Validity of these certificates
will be verified from the Government website.
o Applicants of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category would require the following certificates at the
time of counseling
§ OBC Certificate issued on or after July 1, 2019.
§ The OBC Non Creamy layer certificate issued before July 1, 2019 will not be
considered.
o The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates originally
belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates of other States will be treated as general.

Important Note

· During the online application fees form filling process the applicant can make the entries and
save the information.
· If the applicant is unable to fill the application fees form in one sitting or somehow the
process is interrupted there is no need to register again. They can login using the credentials
sent on their mobile numbers and continue the process.
· Applicants are advised to check all the data they have entered before submitting the
application fee. If there is some error they can edit it or start the entire process again. Once
they have submitted the application fee the data submitted in the registration page cannot be
edited under any circumstances.
· In case the payment is not updated immediately, applicants are advised to wait for at least 72
hours before contacting the technical helpline 0522-4150500 during working hours. They are
also advised not to make multiple payments. All payments that are successful on the console
will get updated automatically. They should note that no late fee or fine would be imposed on
them.

Declaration

I have read and understood all the eligibility conditions and instructions regarding the Admission
Process 2022 for the D.Litt. / D.Sc./ LL.D. Programme of the University of Lucknow. I understand that
it is my responsibility to check the eligibility criterion and other conditions of the Admission Process
2022 in the University of Lucknow. I am also aware that the University of Lucknow is not verifying the
eligibility at the time of submission of application and that it will be verified by the University at the
time of admission. I also certify that I have not been expelled from any University/College/Institution or
found guilty under the Indian Penal Code. I understand that if any information provided by me is found
to be false, my application and my right to admission in the University of Lucknow shall stand null and
void.
