 The Company has donned the mantle of providing all agri-products through a 'single window' to enable
the farmer to buy all products from one source. The Company dealers provide Urea and other agri-
inputs like DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate), MOP (Murate of Potash), SSP (Single Super Phosphate),
and pesticides. Most of these products are sourced from reputed suppliers and sold under the 'Uttam'

OUR HISTORY & MILESTONES

The company was founded by Dr. K.K. Birla, one of India's
most respected industrialists. He realized early that to fulfill India's food security needs, the agri industry urgently
needs infusion of science and technology. The reasoning was sound. 70% of India was an agrarian society.
Farmers would always require fertilisers, of which there was an acute shortage. The demand would only increase
with the years. And there was a clear need for self-reliance in such an important field. A decision was taken to
align with the best in the world to bring cutting edge technologies into India.
First a Urea Plant was set up near Village Sancoale in Goa by Zuari Industries Limited in 1967. In the year 1985,
Zuari Industries Limited promoted Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited. With the passage of time,
Chambal Fertilisers has consolidated its position in agri - business and diversified into shipping, textiles, software
and manufacturing of phosphoric acid.

producing 1.34 million MT urea per annum and Gadepan is the only site in the country with the single largest
production of urea at one place.
The Gadepan-I Ammonia Plant was designed by Haldor Topsoe (Denmark) and the Urea plant is based on
Snamprogetti (Italy) Technology. The Ammonia Plant has a capability to produce 1,770 MT of Ammonia per day
and the Urea plant has the capability to produce 3,100 MT of Urea per day.
The Gadepan-II Ammonia Plant is based on Kellogg Brown Root (USA) Technology and the Urea plant on ACES
Process of Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan). The Ammonia Plant has a capability to produce 1,710 MT per
day and the Urea Plant has a capability of 3,000 MT per day of Urea. However, the reassessed capacity of each
Ammonia plant is 1520 MT per day and each Urea plant is 2620 MT per day.
Gadepan III Plant is one of the most efficient plants in the world using the latest and sophisticated technology
from Toyo, Japan. The Gadepan-III Ammonia Plant is designed by KBR (USA) using its best and efficient
features like Purifier technology, gas turbine driven process air compressor, use of gas turbine exhaust gases in
primary reformer as combustion air and aMDEA based CO2 removal process. The Plant has a capability to
produce 2200 MT per day. Gadepan-III Urea Plant is the largest plant having daily production capacity of 4000
MT per day prilled urea. This urea plant is designed by Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan) using its best and
efficient features like ACES21 technology, Vertical Submerged Carbamate Condenser and improved metallurgy
like DP28W material.
The Gadepan III Urea plant prill tower is the highest in world with total height of 141.5 meter.
Township

Away from the hustle bustle of a big city, Chambal Fertlisers provides the best possible infrastructure to its
employees. Located in Gadepan, about 35 km. from Kota in the state of Rajasthan, 'Uttam Nagar' can be easily
termed as one of the best industrial townships in India.
The township has well-designed houses, excellent medical facilities, health club, swimming pool, a CBSE
affiliated school, shopping centre, sports and great options for sports and recreation. It is set amid an amazing
green environment with a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The Herculean task of the greening the township area
started even before the construction of the urea plants. Green avenues with rows of trees, rolling lawns and
water bodies are a now an integral part of the township.
Uttam Nagar maintains highest safety and environment standards and has been awarded Environment
Management System Standard ISO 14001 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System
Standard OHSAS 18001 certifications.
Agricultural Development Labs

Soil is the single most important factor that determines crop productivity and quality, ensures long term
sustainability and promotes environment well-being. Since soil is neither inexhaustible nor self-sustaining, there
is a need to test soil so that its health can be restored back. Chambal's soil management initiative is a pioneering
move in this regard. Chambal has two state-of-the-art Agriculture Development Laboratories (ADL) at Gadepan
(Rajasthan) and Agra (Uttar Pradesh). In addition to the two ADLs, the Company has satellite laboratories at
Baran, Bundi and Jhalawar in Rajasthan and operates three mobile soil testing vans. Chambal's Labs are
providing a spectrum of services for the benefit of tens of thousands of farmers in the northern, central and
western regions of the country.
The services include:

 Testing the soil with the idea of identifying the problem and suggesting solutions. The soil is tested for
macro and micro nutrients, salinity, alkalinity, sulphur, etc.

 Promoting balanced and economical use of fertilisers for soil health management and better crop
production.

 Preparing block and district wise soil fertility maps.

 Suggesting suitability of soil for plantation of different crops and fruits.
 Determining quality of underground water for irrigation purposes.
 Promoting efficient utilization of underground water.

The soil tests are done free of charge for Uttam Bandhan members.

SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses,
Opportunities, and Threats, and so a
SWOT analysis is a technique for
assessing these four aspects of your
business.
SWOT Analysis is a tool that can help you to
analyze what your company does best now, and to
devise a successful strategy for the future. SWOT
can also uncover areas of the business that are
holding you back, or that your competitors could
exploit if you don't protect yourself.

A SWOT analysis examines both internal and

external factors – that is, what's going on inside and
outside your organization. So some of these factors
will be within your control and some will not. In either
case, the wisest action you can take in response will
become clearer once you've discovered, recorded
and analyzed as many factors as you can.

keep a track of the external factors impacting the organization. PESTLE is a
mnemonic which in its expanded form denotes P for Political, E for
Economic, S for Social, T for Technological, L for Legal, and E for
Environmental. On the basis of the organization, it can be reduced to PEST
or additional areas can be added (such as Ethical).
