Learning Task 3.2

Learning Task

For each scenario, describe the assessment method in view of the factors of
practicality and efficiency.

Scenario 1: Ms. Rivera, a Science teacher, would like her students

to create a video about proper waste management.
She looked into the strengths and limitations of giving
a performance task. She is used to giving projects to
students, but she has limited knowledge about
educational technology. Except for the content, she
does not know to grade the technical aspects of the
video.
Familiarity with the The method that will be used requires strength, which
Method will primarily come from teachers because they should
be the first resources for learners' learning, and the
students will be the ones to apply this in real-life
situations. In the assessment method that is ought to
be used, the teacher should have enough knowledge on
how this works but based on the given scenario, she
doesn’t have concrete knowledge to be taught in the
class.
Time Required In the scenario given, the teacher required the students
to make a video about proper waste management. In
every activity, time requirement is essential and should
be followed by students for them to practice on
following proper direction and time allocation.

Complexity of The administration of the assessment specifically the

Administration direction in the making of the video is not that clear
since the teacher herself doesn’t know how to grade
the technical aspect of the video which leaves students
to be unknowledgeable regarding the criteria and the
proper procedure in the making of the video. Overall,

the teacher doesn’t have enough knowledge on

educational technology which is somewhat not good
since her assessment needs her to be knowledgeable
about technology and how to effectively use this in the
education of her students.

Ease of scoring and In this scenario, the assessment that the teacher
interpretation would like her students to do requires her to have a
criterion which shall serve as guide for her students to
do the video appropriately. However, as what
mentioned, the teacher doesn’t have enough
knowledge on the overall technicality of videos which
may led to her not to have a proper scoring of the
videos. Furthermore, the ease of scoring and
interpretation should be learnt by students.
Cost The scenario does not necessitate the use of any
costly materials in order to be completed since
students can observe their surroundings through
documentation specifically the proper waste
management which can literally be observed
everywhere. Though, this assessment doesn’t require
that much expense, it takes so much considerable
effort to have an output that is excellent and
commendable.
