Filipino artists play an important role in displaying and educating the public about our
culture and history. Many artists are working, artist collectives are flourishing, and the
market is robust. The level of discussion has arisen. One of PCAN's goals is to "consolidate
and harness the riches of Philippine contemporary art." Arts in the Philippines refer to all
the numerous forms of art that have grown and accumulated in the Philippines since the
country's inception up to the present day. They show the diversity of artistic influences on
the country's culture, including indigenous forms of the arts, as well as how these influences
have sharpened the country's arts. These arts are classified into two categories: traditional
arts and non-traditional arts.
