CPEC- A game changer or a
threat for Pakistan Ayesha Fakhar SP-20-BBA-033 CPEC A THREAT OR A GAME CHANGER FOR PAKISTAN
CPEC or China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a project of President Xi Jinping's
vision of Belt and Road Initiative which would also lead to a connection between the countries or in other words is a regional connectivity. Moreover, the main objective of this project was solitude, development, and win-win model for all of them. The whole project was endorsed by both Chinese and Pakistani governments and is under development in Pakistan. In addition, the project plans have an enormous effect on the Pakistan’s economy by rapidly improving the country’s infrastructure including modern transportation networks, energy projects, and special economic zones. Furthermore, through the construction of the modern transportation networks, numerous energy projects and special economic zones it will strengthen its economy. In addition, CPEC was officially launched in 2015 when Pakistan and China signed an agreement to commence work on the $46 billion of development projects. Adding on to this, if we talk about the projects which are under CPEC then there are several energy projects, which are 21 in number. 21 are the ones which are reported. Out of 21, only 10 are the ones which are completed as pause or are still under process. Furthermore, CPEC also will supply an estimated $5 trillion worth of investment into the infrastructure of 52 countries. Evaluating the facts and figures of this project I think this project is a game changer for the economy of Pakistan as it will help to boost the economy. In addition, the CPEC will show an obvious expansion in Pakistan's economy by expanding exchange with China, Central Asia, Russia, Middle East and Europe. Moreover, CPEC will allow to have a distinct economic development in Pakistan that would be visible enough to everyone by around 3% as a result of expansion in the modern advancement because of the accessibility of assets. The Project will have an impact on the agriculture growth of Pakistan too as with the participation of China and sharing current innovation and modern techniques alongside our possible atmospheric conditions this will create a great expansion in the rural area hence, will lead towards agrarian development. Moreover, CPEC will also increase the worth of the land encompassing is improving altogether and is giving various business open doors to proprietors and architects of the land. Furthermore, it will also increase the foreign investment as CPEC is a one of the huge project hence, increase our economic development rate. Moreover, unemployment rate is always high in Pakistan so this project will decrease the rate of unemployment as it will create jobs for a large number of individuals. This project will also have a positive impact on the import and export of the Pakistan as more revenue can be made through exporting of goods and services to and from various countries. In addition, CPEC will not only increase the exports it will also increase the tourism rate as having a positive relationship with China will attract people to travel and the appealing business action around Gwader city. Moreover, several provincial and extra-territorial countries will join CPEC hence, this will lead to work on Pakistan's global height, our contacts and will make an atmosphere of harmony and strength in the area. CPEC will also act as a bridge between improving relationships with other countries which will increase the foreign investment level and also improves the existing relationship with China. This will have a positive impact on the GDP or the GNP of the economy of Pakistan. Furthermore, this may also increase in stability as glaring countries like Russia and a few European powers will need to stimulate their organizations with Pakistan and have their impact in contributing towards harmony and steadiness in South Asia. Overall, CPEC will act as a very helpful project in terms of Pakistan’s economy as it will enhance various factors that will be beneficial for the Pakistan’s economy in the short or long run.
