TYPE USES
   
Polyisocyanate cross-linking Acrylic Resin Mainly in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate two-
  component polyurethane coatings with good light stability, chalking
Hydroxyl content: approx. 4.2% on solid resin resistance and gloss retention; particularly suitable for automotive
coatings.

FORM SUPPLIED PROPERTIES / APPLICATIONS


   
Approx. 70 % in butyl acetate Mainly in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates for air- and forced-
 
drying automotive refinish and industrial coatings.
x The cured paint films are hard, tough but flexible, glossy and high-bodied

SOLUBILITY / THINNABILITY
 
Viscosity (23 °C): 3500 ± 700 mPa·s
SETALUX D A 870 BA can be thinned to a solids content of 30 % with
DIN EN ISO 3219/A.3 ketones, esters, ether esters, toluene, xylene and solvent naphtha 100.
The storage stability of the respective solutions must be tested.
Acid value, supply form: 7.5 ± 1.5 mg KOH/g
Only PU grade solvents (< 0.05 % water, free of other reactive impurities)
DIN EN ISO 2114 should be used.

Hydroxyl content, supply form: 2.8 to 3.1 % The product is not compatible with aliphatic hydrocarbons.

DIN EN 1557 SETALUX D A 870 BA can be mixed with Desmodur1 N 75, N 3390, N
3400, N 3600, Z 4470, L as well as SETALUX D A 365, A 450, A 565, A 665
Water content: ≤ 0.1 % and SETAL® D RD 181. It is generally miscible with most CAB grades.
However, the compatibility must be tested in each case.
